I got a very advanced copy of this CD.
For weeks I was afraid to leave it in my car, at WUNH, at my house or anywhere
else so I wouldn't be the source of the mp3 leak that did eventually happen. This CD
is a 5 star release and easily one of my favorites for the year. When I first
listened to it, there were so many surprises that left me saying "damn" when I
heard them. I feel like I will "spoil" surprises on the CD, but there are a bunch of
hilarious and infuriating GWB quotes through out the CD. There is also a
nirvana cover at the end as well as a 16 minute twisted-village-esque field
recording which you sort of forget that music was once playing while listening
to. The CD starts with a fake mistake and then rips into the tracks. After
listening through the CD a few times, the track ordering and progression is laid
out really good. Tracks 1 through 6 could be one continuous track since they
flow so nicely between each other. It isnít until track 7 that you realize that
youíve been listening to a whole CD. Track 6 outros with a low mosquito sound
into Christianity As Foreign Policy and a GWB quote. Christianity As
Foreign Policy
stands out on the disc as the single and is the best
individually packaged song. I know that a lot of labels would probably have put
this track as the first or second, but that would have completely thrown off the
entire CD.

album of the year if it's not municipal waste's new disc.

this album is such a big step forward from "it's a shame...."
