what i think is slayers most deathmetal cd... very powerful im glad slayer choose to strip down and become more aggressive and faster if they choose to stay in this format i doubt they would become as powerful as they are but it's awesome as an individual statement
Hell Awaaaaaaaits!!!!!!!! this is my favorite slayer album ever! They came back from touring for show no mercy with a faster tighter more evil display of old school thrash. This came out the same time as Megadeths killing is my business, Venoms possessed, and Possesseds seven churches and it blows em all away! The intro still gives me chills when im in the right mood and hell awaits blows your face off immediately afterwards. I think the best song on this album and also my favorite slayer song is necrophiliac. Theres just something about the way Tom sings about fuckin that sinful corpse that makes you really believe him. Whenever im gettin ready to kill somethin this is the album i put on! NO APPARENT MOTIVE! KILL AND KILL AGAIN!!!!!!

Fast and terrifying violent music fused from the alienated self-contrast of thrash and the accelerating rhythms of extreme speed and black metal, Slayer came hybrized but full of voice. From the clean-sung but entrenched, riot-shouted vocals of Tom Araya to the pugilistic network of respondent drumbeats upholding a harangue of ambient fast-strummed riffs and nervous, erratic, chaotic metaspoken lead guitar.
One of the most evil and vicious Slayer records ever made. This one seems to be a little overlooked mostly due to the way-ahead-of-its-time speed and aggression of 'Reign in Blood', and 'Show no Mercy' which is loaded with fan favorites, but 'Hell Awaits' is a true underground classic and deserves much more credit than it gets.
