And I remember going to Scott White's 12th Birthday party. Now he's taller and screams more. Good job Network guys. Mercury Switch was ok, but the drummer needs to goto the gym more. - Bill

wow, look, people went to a show

toggletoggle post by luke   at Oct 7,2004 1:00am
damn, i really wish i could have been there tonight. i love BSI and mercury switch are fucking great. the turnout was good though?

toggletoggle post by bordersauce  at Oct 7,2004 1:29am
thanks to everybody who came out tonight and made it such a success. it went over very well with very few problems. we had a sold-out crowd and we were even able to get more people in everytime somebody left. thanks to everybody that supported the bands and the scene (i know its cliche). it looks like this might be a regular thing because of tonights turnout; just as people are respectful at the shows.
thanks again!
rob

Amazing night with Amazing turn out. there were so many people at this show.
I want someone to pist and offical count. I think that this should harken a new wednesday night thing at the muddy... take portsmouth back old school style.
(WF E-rom.. rip!)

over the top: this is rob g's (bordersauce) new band that he's been talking about and is drumming for. matt lacasse (ex-every band) guitar, giesel (ex-STF & ELA) bass, ryan deckah (ex-no bands) guitah, and a singer that I don't think I really know. I thought that my description would piss people off becuase they most-sound like Intergrity (circa rise one of my favorite cds) with hard-double base. they played 4 songs (about a 20 minute set). they jumped a lot, but I didn't know the music so I couldn't anticipate jumps, missing a lot.

the network: sorry to pete for blinding him. they were all over the place as usual. I didn't recognize the first song.. but the rest I knew. It had been a long time since I last saw them. since their flood. at the end, pete dives out into the audience and then backover the monitors, sort of landing on them. one of them fell off. the sound guy yelled at him about that.

mercury switch: lot's of kids seemed to be there just to see mercury switch. they were in front singing during their set. i always love seening these guys live. Singing a long to the clean parts makes me feel sensitive. After listening to the new underoath cd, I think they should have gone to at least one MS show to see how they should have made their new CD. anyhow, they ended with tonight tonight per usual. all the songs were either from the demo or the cd. I don't have any clue if they are writing new stuff.

backstabbers inc: so home town heros or something, playing their hometown? amazing. they had two guitar players too. this time, second guitar was played by that guy from providence. also, the obviously now have a drummer. he sounded pretty tight. I think they've only been practicing together for 1 month.

what's a show at the muddy river with out the sound guy kicking someone out dramatically?
so ryan (bsi singer) steps on the monitors and then falls on the floor. Some kid form the audience "tattles" to the sound guy, point ryan out as he's singing. the sound guys like tapping on him while he's singing... a minute later, between the third to last and the second to last song the sound guy is all in ryan's face yelling 'I told you to stay off them"
ryan was saying something like "I got it" and the sound guy didn't stop so kev from the network got in between them and starts yelling at the tattler that he's a little bitch, he's a little girl, stuff like that.
finally the sound guy or the promoter says "play your set, but I want HIM out" and they escourt kev from the network out.

toggletoggle post by kyledoes at Oct 7,2004 2:36am
very good turnout I figured it would be big..
I missed over the top because I was outside looking for money on the ground.
Mercury switch- these guys like god a lot .
The Network- always a pleasure to see these guys!! I think they played a new one, sounded real good.
Backstabbers Inc.-finally got to see these guys again wonderful to hear the new stuff live..
this show was pretty good all in all....the sound fucking sucks though people need to move the amps up to where the pa speakers are. I could not hear the guitar I had to ove to the side of the stage in the back to hear everythng...everyone should have played on the dance floor...those stupid pa speakers block all the fucking sound!!!!The sound guy looked like he was gonna cry when Ryan was in his face....hilarious!!!

toggletoggle post by xdillonx at Oct 7,2004 4:20am
I love Mercury Switch. I finally got their cd now that it's been out for a year. Every song is different from the last. Great stuff.

toggletoggle post by betty-crocker at Oct 7,2004 8:52am
No beer made me sad, but all in all it was solid.
the_network was my personal highlight, although the drama that cut bsi short had potential...
glad to finally see bsi... intensity is good for the soul.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2004 8:55am
next show, they should have an "old men" section.
serving the B's.
beer
bengay
battered jalepinos
I would be making frequent stops there to bengay my sore joints.

toggletoggle post by Napoleon_Dynamite at Oct 7,2004 11:00am
Could be. Never heard of anyone going hunting with a bo staff though. Ya know, there's like a butt load of gangs in this forum. This one gang kept wanting me to join cuz I'm pretty good with a bo staff.

But anyways, back to making fun of Mercury Switch.

in the middle of mercury switch some kid looked at me and i think i was making a face like i was gonna puke..he kinda laughed

the mercury switch boldly bridges the gap between nu-metal and awful metalcore with shitty ETID gimmicks.
these gimmicks include: motorcycles, danger, and skeletons.
worst crap ive ever had to sit through.

it's mega retarded when MS show posts always digress straight away to talking about God. they don't preach on stage.
