And what I Saw was a lot of bad acting, plot holes and loose ends. I did enjoy it, but I should've been so much better. It ties with The Grudge with me.

Did you watch that gigantic steaming pile of shit some people like to call "Van Helsing"?

toggletoggle post by dugoxistance at Oct 29,2004 4:55pm
Van Helsing was mindless and corny yet enjoyable enough for me to just watch.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Oct 29,2004 5:03pm
wow...I cant beleive you didnt like saw. I thought it was awesome, and I hate alot of movies.

toggletoggle post by dugoxistance at Oct 29,2004 6:02pm
I think it was very good for a 1st time writer/director team. I enjoyed the pacing, but what the hell was the whole point of the movie and what was up with the porn quality acting. I'll pick it up on DVD as long as it's unrated with neat extras.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Oct 29,2004 6:11pm
ya, I'll agree about the lead role....he is usually a decent actor too, and I was suprised by his 'porn' quality acting in that. the whole concept was cool, and I felt it was pretty well explained, although, u never really see 'you know who' much during the movie.

toggletoggle post by Josiah_the_Black  at Oct 29,2004 10:26pm
that movie blew butthole
it was a cool concept but executed horribly

toggletoggle post by scream_bleed_repeat  at Oct 30,2004 1:57am
i just saw the movie and i thought it was great. I agree they could have gotten some better actors but i thought the plot was great. i thought it was predictable until the end, i was actually surprised.i liked the one where the guy was covered in the flammable goo that had to find the combination without burning himself. whoever wrote this movie is one sick fuck with a lot of time on his hands indeed.

toggletoggle post by dugoxistance at Oct 30,2004 10:31am
adam wrote it. he should stick to writing. he was a horrible actor.

that's funny, I just watched Grudge and then Saw. I love horror movies but I thought both were pretty bad.

I think Saw had the upper hand though, because it picked up a bit towards the end. But you're dead-on about the acting.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high for "High Tension" the way I did for "Saw", just walk out the theater thinking I could've spent money on a sixer or something

toggletoggle post by dugoxistance at Oct 30,2004 8:30pm
high tension is gonna be great. I believe it's won awards in france and on other indie markets. It was called Haute Tension originally and it'll probably be subtitled. Reminds me a little of Intensity by Dean Koontz.

what are your guys favorite horror movies?
like ones that are actually scary

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at Nov 1,2004 4:21pm
I saw my butt hole in the mirror one time.

i watched Saw last night, and just got back from the grudge

some decent "horror" movies compared to the filth that has been coming out the last couple years.

my first beef with Saw: how do electricute someone through a plain old metal chain?? that part made no sense what so ever

second: there is no fucking way in hell that dude could just lay in the middle of that floor and not move a considerable amount in 6 hours. i dont give a fuck if he took some kind of drug, his body would still move, wouldnt it?

that little thing on the tricycle was fuct. i thought that the killer was going to be a midget for about half the movie

and as far as the grudge goes, it sucks it came out after "the ring". a lot of similarities bewteen the too, unfrotunatley. the grudge definatley kicked the rings ass though

and hopefully they dont make sequels to either of these movies........cause sequels usually kill mediocre movies

remember when they had the girl recount her torture story and they mentioned how the "dead" cellmate was given some sort of opiate that kept him alive, but disabled his movement and speech?

maybe he took that opiate as well or something along those lines.

toggletoggle post by powerkok   at Nov 1,2004 6:18pm
or maybe you ruined the movie for ppl that havent seen it!

toggletoggle post by dugoxistance at Nov 1,2004 6:20pm
since The Grudge did so good the sequel is in the works. kinda makes sense since the original had a sequel.

it's still worth going to check out most of these movies regardless, a truly scary film creeps through maybe once every five years

toggletoggle post by Christraper at Nov 2,2004 9:38am
i might watch it if i stumble across it on TV. but i dont really watch tv sooooo yea........

toggletoggle post by litacore just voted for _____ at Nov 2,2004 10:38am
i don't think it'll be on TV, plus they already censored the shit out of it to get an R rating

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 7,2004 4:26pm
just saw it.
it was really good... some campy stuff, but like a b-movie that was thought out a bit more.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Nov 7,2004 6:39pm

clive barker could have wrote and executed this movie wayyyyy better. but overall the movie was good. and it wasnt full of loopholes, everything tied together perfectly at the end. and yes the acting sucked, that dude was better in RobinHood Men In Tights.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 8,2004 9:04am
I sort of knew who the man guy was cause you see him looking out a window and he's bald, just like the guy in the hospital.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Nov 8,2004 9:06am
at first i thought the other guy in the room banged the doctor's wife..which would have been his motivation to kill him

i just SAW it a few nights ago. really bad acting. pretty cool plot though. my favorite part was when the guy had to try and find his way out of the maze of razor wire and got trapped like a pig in barbwire.

toggletoggle post by LSHIoLBC at Mar 24,2005 1:28pm
that is totally lifted from Suspiria, I just found out last weekend

but still, Saw is as an OK movie, maybe I just need to see it again.

my favorite bit is with the beartrap-face girl
