one thing i notice about hardcore kids is that about 97% of them wear those fucking retarded hats, those dumb flat-topped baseball caps they wear. crooked, i might add. jeez, talk about non-conformity, individuality, and a unique personal style. you know, these hardcore kids all believe in thinking for yourself and questioning authority, and being your own person and resisting trends, which sounds admirable.....but, they're all the same: same clothes, same haircuts, same dumb hats, same egos.....plus some of them will actually gang up and beat the shit out of you if you don't look and act like them! some of the more serious straight edge kids beat the shit out of people that use drugs and alcohol. to me this is stupid. these people reject the use of drugs and alcohol because they want to respect their bodies and stay healthy. but beating the shit out of someone is okay. "hey, that guy is ruining his body and mind with drugs! i'm gonna go over there and kick him in the spine and stomp on his throat! that'll straighten him out!" i heard from someone that the band Terror actually has a group of thugs patroling the mosh pit and beating up on kids that aren't moshing hard enough. thats just what some poor kid needs, he goes to a show support a band he loves and gets the crap kicked out of him for not being hateful and violent enough. sounds like bullshit to me.

maybe i'm just dumb, maybe i'm not seeing something. thats why i started this thread, i wanna know how all of y'all feel about these hardcore kids and all the lame ass bullshit "positivity" and "individuality" they like to claim to believe in. and if you are one of these people, enlighten me, please. i'd like to hear your side of it.

that said, I recommend you go to a real hardcore show before you rant about them. not terror or any of that, but a real fun diy hardcore show.

Army hats are dumb. Most kids who wear them are kids who used to wear scarves, and sandals to shows 3 years ago. They're almost as dumb as mesh hats. Kids wear them to be trendy, not because they hand them out for free with the purchase of a Madball cd.

Most hardcore kids I know aren't straightedge. And a sizable percentage of the kids I have known who were straightedge broke edge at some point over the years. There aren't any hardline straightedge kids in Massachusetts anyways so who cares?

As far as getting beat up at a hardcore show....if you hate hardcore so much then why would you even goto a hardcore show to get beat up? You want to know how to protest hardcore? DON'T SUPPORT IT. Don't goto the shows, don't buy the music, don't buy the "accessories". Hardcore, unfortunately, is a commodity. It takes money to fund it (book bands, rent clubs, tours, merch), and if you don't put your money in then you're not contributing to perpetuating it. Complaining on the internet (if Lambgoat has taught us ANYTHING) accomplishes nothing.

That's what I never understood about you metal kids. If you hate hardcore so much, then why is it always such an issue? Why are there always metal kids popping up at hardcore shows to get into these fights I'm always hearing so much about? Don't like it, don't support it.
