is this band any good? what is their best shit??

i had no interest in them friday night, i think it was all the hot topic kids that came too see em, that made me sick... but theyre musically talented, just not my thing, personally.

i use to really not like them...but i saw them on saturday night and they were great. if you get past their gimmickry they're really cool if you like bands like morbid angel, vader, nile, decapitated, etc

First album is great; then they became police informers, and the rest is OK but not worth putting onto plastic. Get "in the pagan vastlands" if you want to hear anything by them.

i didn't see any hot topic kids there for behemoth. if there really were some there, that's sad. i'm not looking forward to seeing some poser mall kid's contrived behemoth ripoff band headlining metalfest in 3 years when the metalcore trend dies.

on that note, i really like behemoth.

Zos Kia Kultus or whatever it's called snared me with cool artwork. Then after listening to it I was displeased to learn that it's lukewarm mediocre death metal that I probably would have dug when I was 13. But I heard a new song and it was pretty good.

I'd rather listen to like, Naglfar or something.

I like Behmoth...I can actaully see Hot Topic kids going since bands like COF is slowly bring black metal some sort of face with those kids...I won't go on the usual rant I like the style of black metal I don't care about the ideology it's just as bad a christian fundimentalism to me

Behemoth are great musicians. I've just recently gotten into them and can see why people like them so much.

a friend of mine picked up a behemoth CD a couple of weeks ago, and when i heard it, i thought it sounded almost exactly like morbid angel...the style of playing, the drum beats....even the singer sounded like steve tucker, and the guitar solos were kind of trey azagthoth-ish. i think behemoth is just another rip-off band, i don't see any reason to get excited about them.

i feel compelled to comment on this CoF arguement:
cradle of filth are a black metal band, they just play it differently from what most people consider to be "true" black metal. there shouldn't be only one way to play this music. bands like darkthrone and mayhem choose to play it one way, cradle of filth and dimmu borgir choose to do it another. i think it is rediculous that people get so angry and insulted when bands choose to play black metal differently, or if a few bands happen to get a little attention from the mainstream.
i decide whether or not i like a black metal band based on whether i like their music or not. i don't worry about how many other people are listening to them, how young or old their other fans are, if a popular store is selling their shirts, how many records they sold, what their political views are, how many churches they burned, or how many gays they killed, etc...
if you like the music listen to it, if not, don't. who gives a fuck? i certainly don't.

I wouldn't consider them Black Metal, they just don't possess the sheer intensity that real blackmetal has. their first 2 CD's maybe I'd consider "borderline black metal" but it all started to go down hill after Dusk and Her Embrace, Midian being the LAST good CD from them. They've had a few good songs since then (such as the title track off Nymphetamine) but they've become more of a novelty, like the UK's answer to Marlyn Manson in my eyes. I think it's Dani's vox that kill me, musically they're usually pretty good (though the keyboard arrangements are usually very simple).

So in closing:

IN MY OPINION (this being expressly MINE) CoF isn't blackmetal, they may have some elements of BM, but ultimately, now, they're a goth band with a few good musicians. I'm not saying: "OMG COF BLOWS ASS, USUK IF YOU LIKE THEM" I am saying that musically they're good, they're just not black metal and they're not my thing...

DEMIGOD is the only behemoth album I really like.

saw them at the SUffo show and wasnt impress...but any kind of Black Metal Influenced band doesnt strike my fancy...because Black Metal's for Fags

i love black metal, but i am mostly into the proggy kind.

seeing them live, they definetly won me over. I'm not into black metal much anymore but I don't really consider them black metal. Definetly tons of death metal influence. I'm going to put them in the player after I type this.

behemoth is more death metal influenced now than bm, their earlier stuff is black metal though, good listens like both versions of the band

and cof is not bm anymore bitches

my friend played me some tracks off demigod before it came out and it won me over. i had heard a few tracks here and there from some of their previous albums and they didn't really jump out at me, but demigod made an impression. i like that album alot.

the vocals are sick.

I didn't like zos kia kultus. It was beyond mediocre. I've only heard one song off the new one. It wasn't bad.

zos kia kultus is an album that kind of blends together, you don't realize notice one track from the other, i still enjoy it though, although i think demigod is a hell of alot better.
if some of you are intrested in the bm style of behemoth i suggest you check out: and the forests dream eternallyl ep, Sventevith, and Grom, all are mighty grim

my friend has a storming near the baltic shirt. i always thought that was a funny name. couldn't they have stormed at the baltic instead of near it? i always laugh when she wears that shirt.
