SHADOWS FALL/STRAPPING YOUNG LAD (06-24-03)

There will be a special airing of Headbanger's Ball on MTV June 27th (this Friday night/Saturday morning) at 1AM EST and 10PM PST. The episode will include videos from Shadows Fall and Strapping Young Lad, so be sure to check it out. This will be a test run to see if the Ball could possibly fit back into MTV's programming schedule. Spread the word.

Vital Remains will be making their first live appearance in over two years at the Milwaukee Metalfest on July 26th at the U.S. Cellular Arena. This will also mark the group’s first public performance with their revitalized line-up featuring the legendary Glen Benton (Deicide) on vocals and Tim Yeung (ex-Hate Eternal, Nile) on drums. Benton contributed all lead vocals to Dechristianize, the latest Vital Remains opus, that continues to garner the band rave reviews. This bludgeoning album, their first full-length release since 1999’s Dawn of The Apocalypse, is already being heralded as the best extreme metal release of 2003. Dechristianize is the group’s most blasphemous and relentless offering to date, featuring nine tracks of melodic, epic brutality.

Tony Lazaro (founder, guitarist) and Dave Suzuki (drums, bass and lead guitars) had the following comments regarding their upcoming metalfest appearance:

Brazilian death metallers KRISIUN have been confirmed to appear at Porão do Rock, Brazil's second-largest rock festival, on July 5th. Crowds of up to 70,000 are expected at the event.

Jul. 19 – Balneario, BRA - Camboriú

Recorded at Bebop 2 Studios in São Paulo, Brazil with producer Pierre Rémillard (Cryptopsy, Kataklysm, Gorguts), KRISIUN's new studio album, Works of Carnage, is set for a late summer release.

In addition to the upcoming CD, KRISIUN will be issuing a DVD, entitled Live Armagedon. It will consist of a show filmed late last year at the studios of Polsat TV in Krakow, Poland as well as extra live footage from Japan, U.S.A. and Brazil, plus backstage shots and footage from various recording sessions.
