New site? Maybe some day.
what do you think? did it meet expectations? |
bump for reviews. hey aaron - can you make a review thing for this? |
So, where can I get this?
im happy with it, although our tracks sounds significantly worse than it does on our website. |
I can\'t make this a \"review thread\" from work.. sorry. |
Blue said: im happy with it, although our tracks sounds significantly worse than it does on our website. |
you guys should have waited for your new recording. |
I actually am pretty happy with it. I think putting a different track on might have been our best bet, as I have been hearing that particulare recording of Grasshopper for over a year now...continuously...but either way I like the listening to all those bands...there's a lot of good music coming from around here!!!
I didn't realize just how rocking some of these bands are!
Dour Cursiva is good stuff, and I am stoked I now have a RAoV song on a CD to listen to.
oh and weirdest thing...I actually LIKE that Bane of Existence song. Who'd-a thunk it? |
I just got our copies in the mail they are great!!!!!! |

yeah, but we wanted something on it regardless. but thats what volume 2 is for! |
the TOS and BOE songs are next to each other too, if I remember correctly. I giggled.
the ATNFAC track is awesome. |
hey Aaron do the review thingy so people can review it. |
I didn't get one. Wtf?!?!?! |
Hey, are we entitled to some of these? I'm retarded and haven't been keeping up on this shit. |
yes, you guys are entitled to 10 copies. ask josh about it. |
yeah 10 of them. talk to Josh Hates You |
Alex, I have a few, I will give you one.
I have not listened all the way through, just skippin to bands I know, but so far it is awesome,My only question is.....Where are the NH Bands?!! |
I listened to the whole cd driving home from Worcester Sunday night and I couldn't believe how good it was. I think I absolutely loved 90% of that shit. The title is so fitting. New England is pissed! Thanks for the kind words Rev. |
I just arrived home from RI and heard the comp for the first time from one of my buddies in Dour Cursiva, and I still maintain that Teratism might be the best death metal band out of the New England scene. All in all the comp was great and a great idea. Im happy that we could be a part of it. |
When's part 2? Where can I get one of these bad boys? |

Here is my opinion...
1- GORATORY
2- TERATISM
3- LEUKORRHEA
4- ANOXIA
5- PORPHYRIA
Top 5 New England Death Metal bands.
i like how anyone who voted that they didnt like didn't sign their name to it or make suggestions on how it could be better.
to anyone who doesn't like it. way to bitch about things and take no action. at least some one made a fucking effort.
Good things about the comp:
1- it was made in just 3 weeks
2- bands supported the idea
3- paid for by the bands and sponsors themselves
4- promotion at metal fest and other events
5- it proves there is a much tighter metal community here than any of the hardcore douches that claim unity. |

Haven't heard it yet, hope to soon. |
yeah this was a great DIY project. good job to everyone who helped put it together especially Josh. There is a great scene here in New England and it will only get better. \m/ |

The newest Anoxia disc along with Service for the Damned by Teratism were actually the two newest discs I picked up, and both rip. We played with Porphyria last year at the Sayonara Summer Fest in Bellingham. Yea theyre awesome. I have yet to hear Leukorrhea, but Ive heard only good things. |
Both of those CDs brought to you by Pathos Productions.
the SOA /NMC tracks were so brutal..the elastic in my underpants snapped...and then...so did my mind. |
not bad...i didn't know what to expect since i hadn't really heard some of these bands. just got done giving it a good listen...the one thing i can say is that with (very) few exceptions, everything on here, even stuff i wasn't totally into was fucking ORIGINAL...well done boys and girls.
Gonna go ahead and give Josh a lot of credit for getting this together. Very impressed at the quality of this with so little time. And you were easy as hell to get a hold of at metalfest. This is the kind of project that could've failed miserably but I think because of the quality of the bands and all this is great.
Thanks for the compliment taste of cigarretes (I'm in Dour Cursiva)
I love ATNFAC, Teratism, and this was the first I've heard Taste of Silver but I'm impressed...really didn't hate anything too much on this...proud of the region.

quick rundown.
pillory - sick, no wonder they got signed.
terrible night - awesome fusion of styles
teratism - brutal
RK - live recording does not do them justice
blood obsession - straight up death metal
deathamphetamine - awesome thrash band. got to see them last nite, good time.
hekseri - these chicks are evil can't wait till seth joins the onslaught
dreaded silece - something about the clean vox sticks in my brain
burn my remains - really good for such a new band
the taste of silver - beautifully chaotic
BOE - nasty drummer. good tune. too bad the vocalist had to part ways.
sin of angels - raw and fucking heavy
the nightmare - song is really good. the rough mix doesn't quite compare to the actual release from what i heard of it.
RAOV- this band is so good. the guitar solo at 3 minutes is fucking awesome.
abhorred - im running out of good things to say about bands that are not cliche
perils - metal core. good metal core. little hatebreed inspired or is that within the fray? i get the 2 mixed up unless i just listen to it.
within the fray - the other metal core band. good stuff. they put on a good show the other nite in worcester.
HBBSI - these guys are a little noisy for my taste. not to take anything away from them. i need to see them live to get a better opinion.
Re-Creation - both NY bands are straight up DM. this band is a little more generic though.
Dour Cursiva - i think alot of people where suprised by this band. lots of chugs with some killer guitar work in between.
thanks again to anyone on it, anyone that helped especialy marcos, thanks to everyone for the kind words, just glad i could help.
my fav tracks on this are definetly:
teratism
dethamphetemine
the taste of silver

eddie said: so will there be a VOL 2? |
yeah in the fall i think. i want to get these ones out of my face first. we will definately have more time like 2 months to put it together instead of 3 weeks.
Just keep banging them out!

thanks josh, and thanks for putting it together. much respect to you and the bands who managed to get thier shit together on time. i know it was down to the wire for us. |

in response to autopsy666:
easier said than done. maybe like every 6 months. vol. 2,3,4,etc until the idea completely plays itself out. also might want to re-evaluate the format and try to raise more money for things like professional mastering but i really dont want to ask bands for more than $50 bucks. unless people want to think of other ways to fund it (benefit shows, pre-sales, whoring out your little sister). plus should they all be given out again or maybe give more copies to the bands and sell more copies to raise money for future comps. if they would all be sold would pathos, not common, armegedon, lost disciple etc. etc. be able to get them into their distroes and possibly other catalogues? should i bother looking into getting them into newbury comics (with barcodes on vol.2). 1000 cpoies dont just sell themselves.
plus the rev talked to me briefly about trying to get a few bigger bands/record labels involved. maybe even some live rttp cuts. have to see how that plays out.
Rumor has it that my buddy steve got a few copies to Devin Townsend and Cephallic Carnage (i guess C.C. dug the deathamphetamine song) and kelly conlon (one time DEATH bassist) who apparently lives in chelmsford MA where he has a home studio and is still producing metal bands. |
I dont have a little sister to whore, or else I would. But I have friends with sisters who I shall definitely get a hold of and demand they sell their cooters on the streets in the name of metal. |
I think an all RttP live tracks comp is in order.
there's plenty of good bands and such.

That's already out, it's called "I have a CD burner and I'm not afraid to use it". Seriously, though, not a bad idea. Josh, seriously consider keeping this thing i print, I wanna review'em in Kicking and Screaming and move these fuckers. (BTW, sorry I couldn't pick one up on Wednesday, I had to finish transcribing the Cryptopsy interview because I'm a last-minute bastard.) |
yea, this compilation kicks ass....tracks from pillory, taste of silver, a terrible night, within the fray, perils of reasoning, raising kubrick, are all quite good. definitely no bands on here that srtaight up suck, and no big rip off artists either, this goes to show that New England and the people on this site value originality, and that means a lot to a jerk like me who thinks everything these days sounds the same. thanks to all the people involved in putting this together! and anyone who has had kind words to say about dour cursiva, thank you. |
I still can't wait to hear it. |
i still need to mail more out on monday including the RAOV copies i still need maore addresses |
this SHIT is nowhere as heavy as the new "Priest"cd duuuuuuuude.... |
by the way... The Network, The Taste of Silver, A Terrible Night For a Curse, Dour Cursiva, and Akela May 10 @ the living room in providence ri. 8 pm. |
the whole cd sounds awesome, great bands, great order, the only things:
in a car with sub woofers some songs sound too loud, some songs have no bass. i'd be willing to throw in a few extra bucks or play a benefit show just to have it mastered or normalized for something in the future. still, the cd quality is amazing based upon the fact that most of the cd is self released/recorded by the bands or small studios.
this is the funniest part. the only typos in the insert are for within the fray- our ep says it's called "dre all day", we almost all shat our pants, it's too hilarious. the ep was dubbed die all day on a spur of the moment thing, just because i decided our ep should have a name when i was filling out the form. too bad i chose the worst name possible. i was trashed, sounded good at the time.
also our email address doesn't have a g in it.
i imagine this cd will stay in my player for a long time though, and i'm proud to be on a comp with bands such as pillory, nightmare continues, taste of silver, abhorred, raising kubrick, deathamphetanime, and everyone else who worked to get a spot on this comp. let's make 10 volumes and put out a boxed set. |
only dour cursiva mistake was the e-mail. we use dour_cursiva@hotmail.com, not yahoo...but we just created a yahoo account...no skin off my foreskin.
zero capitilization for this post |
i was looking at the insert and saw "dre all day" and wondered if it was a song about listening to dr. dre all day. die all day definitely makes more sense, but it really would have been funny if it was about listening to dr. dre all day. |
ha ha. so it wasn't supposed to be dre all day? I thought that was pretty a sick ep title. |
"The mothafuckin' D-R-E!"
I just remembered how I got this at Metal Fest. I'm going to listen to it now. |
The Taste of Silver Song on this is way better then the Taste of Silver CD I have |
oops. haha. i just looked at the papers real quick. the little dot over the i touches the line and looks just like an r.
i apologize to within the dre and DC, i might have been side tracked by porn is my only excuse |
its no problem josh, we all think dre all day is awesome, you definetely notice it and think about it more than you would the other title. we should seriously name our cd if we make one Dre All Day. and put thanks josh hates you in tiny letters underneath. |
no worries, just added an e-mail account and re-directed it to the hotmail one...hell, I didn't even have to do it, it was our short as hell vocalist...and no one cares about what happens to short people. |
Brian...you are dead...short as hell... |
Josh, e-mail me.
I'm on the text version and can't e-mail you from it. |
In case you forgot to vote |
LOL
New England is Wicked 8 years old |
