Canned air won't fix scratchy pots man.
I'd buy it for that price in a second if I weren't saving up for my custom shop ESP 5 string. |
|
not a bad bass. id buy it if it werent so BLACK.
not that im racist or anything, but for the most part putting a solid color on an instrument is just a waste of a nice piece of wood. |

Ibanez doesn't even use wood on alot of thier guitars.
The 2000$ signatures they make for vai and satriani are basswood (the same wood BCrich makes there bronze out of) SO usually they aren't covering anything beatiful. I believe the S series is AA mahogany though.

and all the satriani 'chrome boy' guyitars and E basses are made of 'luthite' a woodish-plasticish compound. |

many many ibanez basses are wood, the only I can think of that arent are the ergodyne. And as for the finish of this bass, I dont think basses should have finished necks, because it slows down your hand movements. But if it was a natural finish neck, then itd be a nice bass. |
|
and as for basswood, all the high end EBMM Bongo basses use it and they sound and play unbelievable. A number of Fender basses are basswood bodies too, and they can be nice as well, depends on the bass. |
|
The bongos and fender basses both make my penis soft.
color painted and natural finished necks don't have a speed difference, since they are both clear coated. and have the same stuff on the outter layer. I think you mean oiled necks (tung oiled necks have no clear coat and is the fastest feeling neck IMO) wich is what most low end imports have.
A painted and finished neck will not feel any different then an oiled neck if you have it stored in the proper humidity and heat, but rapid changes in heat and humidity tend to make the poly/nitro clearcoated necks feel 'sticky' and in the case of the ibanez S series (since the necks are so thin) warp. |

no ebmm and fenders for you? those things rip for funky stuff dude and are more than solid for rock and metal. And you can get pretty much any tone you want with a good rig and a good jazz and pbass.
from my experience, painted necks feel sticky when my sweat gets on em, my warwick has an unfinished neck and my jazz has a natural finish that feels alot faster than painted neck basses ive played. |
|
Your warwick is tung oiled and your jazz has a nitro clear coat wich is a bit thinner and less sticky than a poly.
Oiled warwick necks play like a dream and the MEC pickups fucking destroy. |

This bass is made of basswood. The price of it has been cut in half basically. It feels like a guitar really. The finish on the neck has never hindered my speed, and I play pretty fast. You guys should do a check on the spec's of a SR885.....The only reason why I want to get rid of it is because there is the fine ass bass on talkbass I would like to buy. |
|
Yea, I forgot.. You can also use contact cleaner on scratchy pots. |
|
would tou whant to trade for a 4 string |
