I think they got that from The Maxx... at least he says that in some episode.

the black book diaries: definitely a different band from the first time I saw them. They are exploring a metal-core vein and dropped all the grindcore songs.

anaophales: Their set seemed amazingly short. Seemed like a lot of kids in the crowd did what they should, moshed.

sky cutting stars: Played all their “harder” tracks, leaving the longer tracks off due to the fact their set was 20 minutes max.

minus the map: stoner rock from Chicopee mass.

the breathing process: they have a new bass player. The second to last track they played rocked cause the guitar riff sounded like a deerhoof song.

into the moat: excellent. I had heard great things and wasn’t disappointed. They are a mix of POW and jazzy-grindcore.

for.her.i.can.be.a.hero: just back from tour with the acacia strain. Just back from a $2,000 bill on their van. They drove wicked far and then played. You connect the dots. Their usual high-energy set was sapped. I can’t wait to see them again, once they get their strength back and recoup the van costs somehow.

stimuli: when the singer came out, I was thought WHOAH since the flood. And they sort of sounded like STF for about 5 seconds. After that it sounded more like Blood Has Been Shed which was pretty good except for the clean singing parts.

kiss the cynic: a lot of bands use vocal processors to compress, pitch drop, etc, but the singer actually had a pedal for his vocals. Weird. They suffered from “not-from-there” syndrome. That’s where a band isn’t from the area so no body stays in the club.

every single nerve: Jobu’s band? Yeah, that’s right. Set out of line at the ‘cat and he’ll wrestle you to the floor, but now he’s in his own band. They are like slow-churning old school metal mixed with hardcore. Jobu’s vocals where higher than I’d imagine. Think old school BHBS.

days gone by: it’s funny hearing boston accents in between songs. They just got done recording their CD which is out on hitthepit.com . I love watching the bass player cause he could totally fit into Goatwhore.

red reaction: old school skater punk akin to Agnostic Front and old suicidal tendencies. Two words: snot rockets.

the program: eh, they were an emo band from cali. Not really my band, but much like stretch Armstrong, kids love it.

locked in a vacancy: awesome. These guys played a bunch of tracks and then called the sound guy up to rock the bass and play for the last song.

the acacia strain: minus kerri (bass) and added a temporary bass player.

since by man: Arty hardcore mixed with electronic loops. This the rise meets norma jean. I loved when they actually used the sampler. Oh, and I heard they were the loudest band to ever play at fat cat’s

with honor: nothing I can rav about that I’ve not said a million times at other shows. Granted, if they play “to believe” I’m super happy anyhow.

shai hulud: they played for 45 minutes filling out with old and new songs. The singer also said tons of posi-hardcore speeches. People listened and went up to sing along with me.

the show was decent. its good to finally be home. being stuck in georgia for 4 days was a fucking shitfactory, but the for her kids are good at life, so it was enjoyable. you should've heard the van...welcome to death.

but about the show, i didnt watch all the bands, but i enjoyed INTO THE MOAT and KISS THE CYNIC. I didn't expect to like any of the bands that played, but it was nice to have my expectations obliterated.

i kinda wished i watched the other bands, but i wasnt in the mood really. good job with the pictures.
