you double posted.
this was the first time in 8+? years of coming to the palladium that I actually shat in the bathroom. go me! I made sure to go before the doors open and the water and sword fights in there started

of blessings and burdens: (main stage) I thought this was obate. I don't think I ever saw them before. Good stuff. Semi-prog hardcore. Along the lines of BTBAM. I guess the guitar player was playing his last show. they told kids to fuckitup but there wasn't really anyone in the crowd yet.

gone by day light: (2nd stage) they are from western mass though I don't think I've ever heard of them before. They were rocky indie music. Young kids, but the guitarists belted out a bunch of really good shit. I was very impressed. Some of it was reminicent of the pixies. The middle mic shat the bed while they were playing.

raining blood is playing
*metal*

cant face the falling: (main stage) all girl band rock band. Sort of reminded me of rainer maria. They are from PVD too. they were surprisingly good.

Sound The Alarm: (2nd stage) the middle mic was also out when they went on. I guess it was the snake. This was sort of the music that I figured would be par for the day. Emo-rock. Granted, they played well. But I would rather just listen to the promise ring.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 3:23pm
ligeia: (main stage) what a crime putting them on this early. They only played like 4 songs, but I guess the cat I'd out of the bag about them signing to ferret records. Its funny having to chase them around the stage when they are singing the line "smile for the camera." that always makes me laugh. As I said, they got seriously robbed going on at this time. There were like 20 max in the front of the stage.

miles between: (2nd stage) "what's a skatefest" they weren't bad even though the schedule I had put them on the mainstage.. Some proggie parts. enough simple break downs to keep the crowd happy. They had fixed the mic by this bad. the singer's voice was also quality. Some of his screams remind me of the old premonitions of war singing. For the beginning of their set, people were dancing up a storm... Sort of... there still aren't many people here, but most of them are upstairs.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 3:30pm
Hero Pattern: (main stage) no matter what carina says, them and can't face falling sounded nothing a like (i don't care if they are friends). It just sounded like whiney emo-rock. since I'm not a highschool aged girl sitting in my room, they are not really my type of music. Maybe your 14yo sister would put them on a mix tape for you. They are from NJ. They played a song called monster that was good musically, I'm just not big on the vocals/echo vocals. One of the guitarist did have a pretty sweet sargent pepper coat on... um... go british colonialism!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 3:31pm
ps: I'm also prejudice against bands that wear ties if there is no blood involved.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Sep 10,2005 3:32pm
Hahaha dammit...I was going to say they (all girl rock band..yay! ) reminded me of rainer maria..esp the vocals...another non metal band the rev likes

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Sep 10,2005 4:02pm
A guitarist stroked the rev's face (which I did not see) but I heard him say what a beautiful face..to which I yelled out in reply "yes he does# he also called him cameraman..lol

There's a girl I work with who's in this band.

ryedells: (2nd stage) romones influenced poppunk. Not bad at all. I think ramones fans would like them. they weren't quit to the queers level of ramones, more like the guts. They played a few covers that I knew and could sing along to.

patent pending: (main stage) "i can't pronounce war-chester so you are called cleveland OH from now on." I'm still asking myself "what was that" they were pop-punk with some really lame vocal parts. I'm just hoping they were serious about that and were just fucking around, yeesh... The funniest thing they did was make fun of myspace and emo kids. (that and blogging which I bet he thinks I'm doing cause that was sort of what I did as he said that... Ep!) They had a song called "stop crying emo kid." I will admit that that song was hilarious, but during that song one of the guitarists came down and caressed my face... Weird.. And again carina didn't save me! He said what carina tells me all the time, that I have a pretty face...

the left overs: (2nd stage) probably the most punk name of all the bands today. I wasn't into it, but they played pretty rockin. it was a little too top-40 punk for me.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 4:36pm
fear nothin bad: (main stage) I remember them playing last year. I don't really like the music, but I like dancehall vocals. I just wish the music itself was more roots&rockers. They had a keyboardish, but his rig. They also just got off warptour. I think they said the same thing last year.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 5:13pm
The Goodwill: (main stage) normally, I say "there's no one here" and if it's a non-metal show, I mean there are like 20 people, but for this set there was no one at all there. I stepped back to get a picture of it and as I did, two people walked up to the frot, but that was all I saw. I'm not a fan of there music, but that was rediculous. They played through it though, laughing it offi guess after I left, they asked everyone's name.

dead hearts: (2nd stage) they sounded like blacklisted mixed with some metal. There were a few people up stairs for them, dancing around. They had a lot more energy than the room gave back to them, but there were 4 or 5 kids dancing for them. the beginning of their set was nothing but complete feedback from the monitors.

the anchor line: (2nd stage) this is ex hostage heart and dying in sin. This was totally not what I was expecting at all. I know I could have expected it from chris's musical tastes. I'm not big on the vocals, but I can't believe how well put together it was. Their songs where emo-ish sung songs with almost as much energy as THH. I forsee a long of shows where THH plays 2-3 songs and then then switch up and play as the anchor line. Chris told everyone to check out RttP cause it's better than the bridge9 board.. Aw...

loves true bluish light: (main stage) this was the sound guy at the palladium's band. hilarious music. It was just two guys with acustic guitars. They sang songs about all sorts of depravities... Like ex-girlfiends with dicks, another that wanted to be like ginger lynn (didnt she died of AIDS?), alley macbeal looking like a boy and more...
http://www.patmusic.net
I'm pretty sure that people in the crowd loved him... Though "crowd" for today is like 10 people. during their set, some one threw a banner of some sort on the stage

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Sep 10,2005 6:16pm
It wasn't a banner...it was a shirt ...he put it on after the set and I snapped some pics...

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 6:17pm
Love Drug: (2nd stage) wow, then had a full set of keys on the stage. It was a full size organ. They sounded sort of like radiohead with that and their good use of feedback patterns in the music. It sounded good. Though the vocals were a bit too counting crows for me. The sound guys were running around like crazy for their whole set tracking down something that wasn't working.

I'm still confused as there is Nobody here... this is fucking weird.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 6:41pm
folly: (main stage) this was another of the bands that I was excited to see. Their music is really good, minus the skanking ska parts. I don't really like those. So anyhow, basically as the first note hit, kids flooded in and semi filled the floor. I was sort of shocked after all the bands that played down stairs before them. I'm not sure where they came from but they stayed, danced, and sang along. this was the first band downstairs with any crowd support.
though everyone was chased off after their set by pete steele on the house speakers.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 7:14pm
roxy: (2nd stage) they were yet another emo-ish band. Highschoolgirls wetdream blahblah. since the whole audience was very high in the Y chromosone count. The best part of the band was the drummer. She over played a bit, but was really good.

Days Away: (main stage) yet another band that I wasn't fond of... They had a keyboardist and all... I think it sounded like... Um.. Incubus.

toggletoggle post by succubus  at Sep 10,2005 7:48pm
You should make comparisons whenyou know a band's music....sounded nothing like incubus

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 8:18pm
righteous jams: (2nd stage) so they all finally got there and did a set upstairs instead of downstairs. there were A LOT of kids that seemed to be at the show for rj, folly, the banner, and with honor. They played a bunch of songs and 'l of them were sing alongs. seems like right after their set, people cleared out.

ducky boys: (main stage) I came down and the guitarist was having some sort of issue cause the bassist and drummer were playing stand by me. When the guistarist fixed his issue, he came in finishing out the song and then they played on a few more songs with a little bit of help from lost city angels. These guys are way to venerable to have the shitty amount of people in the crowd.

prozac: (2nd stage) they were pop a pop punk band.. and sort of not. The guy on the left kept singing, but I couldn't hear it at all.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 8:54pm
lost city angels: (main stage) I enjoyed these guys a lot more this year than I did last year. Kevin howard (ruining tomorrow) jumped out and sung A LOT for them. I have many more pictures of him than some members of the band.

banner, the: (2nd stage) finally, another one of the bands that I wanted to see. They play handcore laced with misfits style dark punk. The new CD hasn't totally wow'd me like the last CD. The last time I saw them was at hellfest last year. I think they had a bunch of friends with them and they jumped off the stage with inflated animals to "surf" the crowd. Their set was pretty awesome. A bunch of kids yelled out requests... Which they actually did fill or were going to play anyhow and made it look like they were going to play them as requests. At some point the singer got really close to my face. To close to put my camera between us. If I had known that song, I would have sung along, but I didn't so I didn't. instead, I leaned back and tried to snap a shot. damn it.. I should have gone to the new direction show they were on.
PS: if the banner actually do read this and feel like sending me a free one of those awesome zip-ups, I woukd wear it with pride.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Sep 10,2005 9:01pm
i had no clue the anchor line was playing this.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 10,2005 9:27pm
stretch arm strong: (main stage) I'm not a fan of their CDs at all but like bane, they put on a great live set. I thought the newer tracks they played sounded a lot better and harder. Its probay cause they just recorded the CD. the singer spent a lot of time down in the crowd.

with honor: (2nd stage) its been way way way too long since I've seen them. They sounded awesome on that stage. All the kids that had been waiting through al those other bands for then where super excited. This was their release. Those guys jump more than everyone in any band ever. I fellsort of left out since I don't have their last CD. I only got the EP. I think that todd (singer) took a page out of the book of bane. Was it just me or did he move just like aaron, even down to the "touch down" dance. They played a few new songs (CD coming out oct 13 with a cool tour to follow).

toggletoggle post by libby at Sep 11,2005 12:53am
That comment above was about Folly. Obviously i dont know how to use this thing. Anywho... i thought that The Banner put on the best show today. FULL of energy. First time i had ever seen them, and they definately blew me away. Stretch Arm Strong and With Honor also both had lots of energy. It must be tough to stay so into it sometimes when there are only 20 people in the crowd.

piebald: (2nd stage) I've seen them never before. They used to drive their short bus to the dorm beside my dorm (hubbard hall) and play almost every weekend it seemed, but for some reason, I never went and saw them. When I came in to the back of the room, the singer looked at me and asked "can you turn up the vocals?" (pause) "oh, you're just the camera man"
"yeah, all I can do is turn up the vocals in the camera."

toggletoggle post by kibblesndicks  at Sep 11,2005 3:01am
this was prob the worst show i have been to at the pallidium. It seemed like the planning happened a day in advance for it, and the sound was horrible. i don't think i saw one band that didn't have feedback. or mic problems. It just seemed like the sound guys didn't care at all that or really didn't know what they were doing.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 11,2005 3:09am edited Sep 11,2005 3:10am
juliana theory, the: (mainstage) I don't really like them, but one of the guitarists was really freaking good.

big d and the kids table: (mainstage) so.. this was the band that meant "it's time to go home" after shooting a few pictures of them, I start putting my stuff away, pee, and come back. all of a suuden (right after taking that picture of carina and I) one of the guys from lost city angels brings a kid out of stage and says that he caught him in their dressing room. the singer says "let's see if he stole anything" and they turn the kids pockets inside out. jobu is standing there getting ready to stop anything. some junk falls out of the kids pockets and the singer kicks him in the stomach so he flies back to the drummer. then the bass player grabs the kid and lifts him up by the next. while the kid's yelling "it's chapstick" of something like that. it was clearly some sort of guitar tuner or something. some of the lost city angels guys and big d guys start to hit the kid and jobu pulls him off stage and the rest of the security holds the band back. II don't like big d's music, but if anyone know's the kid (sorry that I didn't get a good picture of him cause if I did, his life would be ruin), but if you saw him and you know how he is, post his myspace or something here.

toggletoggle post by Al_Ravage   at Sep 11,2005 3:14am
Wow, we openned for BIG D and The Kids Table about 8 years ago and now they are all big. I remember tapping on a window that was behind them and pissing off their drummer so that he started hitting the window with his stick

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Sep 21,2005 10:06pm
the reason the black thing fell out of his pockets was because his band played earliar that day. seriously.

hm.. that means I have pictures of him...

that kid played bass in that shitty band "gone by daylight". his name was dan.

the dude from lost city angels saw him in big d's dressing room with one of the pedals. the kid asked whose it was, and was told him bigd's. the lca guy left the room and waited outside and saw the kid walking out with the pedal. then grabbed him and brought him down stairs to the stage.
