so, I decided this was the show for me tonight. I'm in nashua now.
just walkmed by the public library which is on the edge of a "not nice" part of town and I watched some dude procuring himself some company for the evening.
GO NASHUA!!

rough streets of New Hampshire, ohhh!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2005 7:33pm
nashuas got a couple "rough" areas. all of these areas are around main st and have old people/expensive places on the otherside.
1) french hill which is now all latinos
2) pine st which was all lower class white/black, but is mostlikely puerto rican now.
3) the triangle behind the library which is the grosses. that along the river where it was all polluted and there are just tons of run down service stations and machine shops.

I must say that carina and I drove through french hill the other day and it was super cleaned up. now sure why, but if you drive through it and go over tracks you end up at a $$$$ country club.

nashua is actually really really big. my family is all from up past church hill, down the "rich" areas of manchester/concord st and the more "suburban" area of charlotte ave.

now for another nashua-ish, you sir, are a fucking emmen.

wasnt Nashua voted "best all american city to live in" or something in like 99... i always see that damn sign on the highway

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2005 7:42pm
yes it was and yes it's an awesome place for people to live if they have the $$$$$ to send their kids to GB. their highschool (last I knew) had like 6000 kids in it even though it was designed for 2500.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2005 7:44pm
tthe thing about nashua is all the bad parts are pretty contained. if you down stray for the beaten path, you will never see the bad parts.

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Oct 7,2005 7:53pm
time for a revolt!

Hah...you should here what people at work say about it.....I like the tour you gave me aaron

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2005 8:25pm
OMG its so fucking hot in here. the place is absolutely packed. I'm guessing there is about 300 kids here. I ran in for the first band. I cracked open my bag and felt the cool air-ciditioned air puff out. Since this place is in the 90s with insane humidity, I knew what the first set or so was going to be like.

when_legends_die: by the time my camera got in to my hands, it was soaking wed already. I clicked open the cap and it was as feared. The lens was completely fogged up. I began snapping. After each and every shot, I had to wipe my camera clean. Most of my pictures of wld will be ruined. Anyhow, they were pretty good. They sounded tight and loud, but they had 3 guitars so its not hard for them to be loud. They reminded me a bit of older aild. Sort of what I figured they would sound like. The crowd was dancing constatly which only added to the humidity.

now, I'm sitting on on the side of the stage, letting my camera dehumidify. It's weird, both christian and star have talked to me as "the photographer" and christian just told me that this is their most packed show ever. I'm beginning to notice that I'm about twice as old as the average kid here. the singer of the next band looks 13...

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 7,2005 9:08pm
our last night: like I said, 13 year old singer. He sounded pretty good too. They were derivative of a lot of the kids doing hardcore out there now, but look at the talent they have at that age! They were sort of like underoath. The guitar players had a lot of talent too. I'd say the average age of the band was 16 max. it was also funny cause they already have a CD out and just made a new one. All I could think about was that tyler freak out post from earlier.

sweat is dripping off me and I can't keep my lenses clean... ARG!

ok, I would just like to reiterate that it is insanely fucking hot in here.

gr... my spillkit and ms reviews got lost... its too fucking hot for this crapola.

It's so hot in here that my flash batteries aren't able to cool down between bands. Also, it sort of smells like vinegar in here... funny how this is now like an ICC show and they are both xtain places. I guess you must experience the ravaging heat of hell before your ascension.

toggletoggle post by 603Josh at Oct 8,2005 12:00am
That was byfar the hottest show i've ever been to. Jesus christ they should never allow that many people in there again. I hate that place.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Oct 8,2005 12:08am
two words sumarize that show, sweaty cleevage. boob on girls and ass on the dudes. trust me, don't put you hand in either

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Oct 8,2005 1:05am

spillkit: they've not played in about a year, but are reformed and will be playing a lot more shows. I think there was only 2 original members. for a band that's been out of commision, they played really well. they are more like old norma jean. I don't think that people in the audience knew their music cause I didn't see any singing along.

mercury switch: weird, I always come out thinking they are going to have a new bassplayer. they came out dressed like pearl jam. I was wondering how long they would keep their cloths on. it wasn't long. they played like always. everyone always comes out and sings along with their set. they played a fun and sweaty set. ending with their stairway to heaven, youngblood electric. everyone came up on stage to sing along. speaking of singing along, nate the war is completing his run of singing with every band in the world and hopped on the mic for a minute.

haste the day: well, they came out on stage and it was so wicked hot. the audience still went crazy even though it was a million degrees and 12093182938% humidity. they sent fallen out to aaron who I can only assume is me and not aaron HFC. Jimmy (singer) also announced that he's getting married. he's an awesome dude so that's great news for him. I always love going out to shoot them. they played for a really long time given the tempatures in that place. I was near passing out on that hot stage, but still the kids jumped around and participated to the fullest. at the end of the set, one of the guitarists gave up and mark MMMP jumped up to fill in.

I've never checked out Drifters before. That place looks big. Is that the one off Main street? Not sure I'd have wanted to go to this show, but I'll definitely have to see who else is playing there.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Oct 8,2005 12:35pm
They should give out free water and deoderant for shows as big as this haha.
I'm happy for Christian and his success recently though, I used to go to shows at Drifters with less than 10 kids by the end of the night, bands included.

And how often can you see Merc Switch dressed like lumberjack hobos..

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Oct 9,2005 5:41pm
not lumberjack hobos, pearl jam!
