Hands down one of the most brutal black/death metal vocalists to ever come out of New England or the world for that matter........ And he is back for the fucking Satanic attack!!!!!!!!! He has a new band called Godless! Watch for some gigs with Godless and CNV in the coming months!

who?

who?

the real singer of vital remains. he sang on the demos, seven inch, and first two records. some of the sickest vocals ever.

toggletoggle post by coldnorthernvengeance  at Oct 20,2005 9:23pm
Jeff Gruslin original Vokillist for Vital Remains (Reduced to Ashes demo, Excruciating Pain, Black Mass 7", Let us Pray and Into Cold Darkness). Vital Remains had THE best stage show I have ever seen when he was in the band.....

toggletoggle post by davefromthegrave  at Oct 20,2005 9:24pm
was he with them when they played the very first nemhf?

toggletoggle post by davefromthegrave  at Oct 20,2005 9:24pm
I ask because, the vocalist they had then was fucking amazing, and one of the best vocalists I have seen or heard to date.

I believe that was Thorns.........Different guy.

okay. that guy looked too big anyway. was this the dude with the big fuckin tumor on the side of his head?

toggletoggle post by coldnorthernvengeance  at Oct 20,2005 9:30pm
no

toggletoggle post by coldnorthernvengeance  at Oct 20,2005 9:32pm
I think he quit around 96' and then resurfaced very briefly but then quit again. There was another guy that did vox for Vital Remains who looked similiar.

toggletoggle post by eddie  at Oct 20,2005 9:34pm
oh

toggletoggle post by davefromthegrave  at Oct 20,2005 9:35pm
they've pretty much had a different vocalist every time I've seen them, and I've seen them 5 or 6 times

toggletoggle post by coldnorthernvengeance  at Oct 20,2005 9:41pm
Yeah, he is one of the most under rated vocalists I think. It would be awesome if he did VOX in a old Necrophobic style band. It would be the most satanic thing ever......

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Oct 20,2005 9:53pm
Is that a NECROVORE shirt?

I went to Jeff's house once, it was like a record store, he was a vinyl freak.

toggletoggle post by xxx proctologist at Oct 20,2005 9:56pm
i saw him with vital way back in the day and even though he just pretty much stood there he had an incredible presence on stage

toggletoggle post by AUTOPSY_666   at Oct 20,2005 10:01pm
Yeah, I got to see him about a dozen times or more, he would just stare straight ahead above the crowd.

toggletoggle post by Notorious_D.U.G. at Oct 20,2005 10:09pm
wasn't he let go after his comeback because he couldn't sing the newer songs on Dawn of the Apocolypse?

Nunslaughter
Godless (featuring Jeff Gruslin)
Cold Northern Vengeance
Martyrvore
Hekseri

This is great news, but there are already like five bands called Godless out there, most notably the Puerto Rican band. Who knows though maybe they'll change it.

CNV gets 1000 points for mentioning Necrophobic.

I have Into Cold Darkness -- great fucking album. I think I saw them at Club Babyhead when that first came out. I remember lots of candles on stage...

"Swear it! Swear it! Swear your oath to Satan!"

I heard that was the reason he was so good, he was always hopped up on coke and acid when he was on stage. just a rumor of course. I still want to know what other bands he's been in cause I loved that guy's performance.

Glenn was and still is good. I'm sure some people here are gonna disagree with me but I don't care.

That is Jake Raymond from Cape Cod in the 2001 picture.

Chris Ross had long hair but he was in the band in like 1997, neither of those guys recorded with VR.

I have no idea who that guy in the 2000 picture is.

I'm pretty sure you're referring to the long haired dude who isn't glen. He seemed like more of a black metal vocalist than death metal. Between all the songs he would talk in a scary black metal voice, and I remember watching the drummer groan every time the dude opened his mouth. I could just tell that the band wasn't happy with him.

Yeah, I always use to enjoy their version of "39 lashes" from Jesus Christ Superstar. They were so over the top back in the day with Gruslin.
Always a show when they use to play. Lots of theatrics. Upside down cross coffins with smoke, candles evrywhere, Evil robes with Satantic sermons. Just good showmanship. For a little awhile they were doing the corpse paint thing. My Favorite show was Autopsy, Incantation and Vital Remains @ Club Confeti.

It was never released. It was suppose to be on the 2nd album but, the record label fucked up and it didn't make it. This is what I was told by Tony last year. When I was younger I use to see these guys all the time. back in 1991-92. Alot of killer shows back then.

ya. also, i kinda like that album, it kinda grew on me.

I remember talking to Thorn a long time ago, I think his real name was TJ? He seemed pretty humble and down to earth. I recall Tony trash talking him in some AOL metal chat once, saying he got booted from VR for drug problems. Funny thing is, the dude Thorn/TJ came across as a lucid individual and denied what appeared to be bogus claims.

every one knows the real vr line up is the current one.

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Mar 8,2010 10:04pm
He probably scoffed at Tony's lugubrious hoagie rituals.

he is NOT an NYDM prospect. do your homework.

Be cool to hear something new from the Old Goat. Dug the first Godless Rising. Dude knows how to Satan.
