New site? Maybe some day.

Does anyone own an ebow? Do they really allow for "infinite" sustain? Is it worth the 79 dollars? |
|
Ebows are small electronic devices that emit a magnetic field. When held in hand, in place of a pick, the magnetic field causes the string(s) to vibrate. This does allow for infinite sustain, and creates a sound much like a violin, or almost like a theremin box.
It's a cool effect, but I personally haven't found much use for one other than to add a bit of ambience or atmosphere to a track. |

awful.
Have fun using them on a guitar with EMGs.
If they were 20 bucks, I'd say go for it. |
|
I enjoy not having EMGs everyday. |
|
I prefer dimarzios myself, but have EMGs on most of my current guitars. Ether way, EMGs will not work with the Ebow. The Ebow pretty much is gay anywho. |
|
I was loyal to dimarzio until I got a guitar with duncans in them...now I guess I'll be loyal to duncans |
|
The dimarzio X2Ns are probably the best pickups I've ever played... plus they come in flourecent green and pink.
My old warlock Had a jazz and dimebucker in it, The distortion was great but they were a little to noisy. I like the silent over tone of the EMGs. |

I'll need to hear them...I love my JB/59 combo, so it'll have to wow me. |

AWFUL. Piece of plastic shit that is a pain in the ass to use and worthless when it comes to playing live. $79??? Ya, I bought one and I'll sell it to you for $2.49 + tax. |
