EXACTLY! Isnt that vocalists name James Friden or Anders Hetfield or something?

bolognese is a funny name.

i don't like beyond the embrace's metalcore album, but i think shawn's a very good vocalist. he's a good guy too. our old guitarist was friends with him and we hung out a couple times in new bedford. really nice guy. their old bass player was a good kid too. if they would go back to their old style without breakdowns, i'd respect the band more.

metalcore album? breakdowns? are you seriously retarded?

either you're the one who is seriously retarded, or you haven't heard their most recent album, insect song, which is a full blown metalcore album. there are breakdowns all over that album, retard.

I find the statement that Insect Song is a full-blown metalcore album to be completely egregious. Sure there are breakdowns but I fail to see how these breakdowns sound remotely *core-ish. Call my logic faulty but I find these alleged breakdowns to be devoid of mosh-inciting chugga chugga riffs, which, I believe is what most of us would consider "metalcore".

Now, if you'd just said "I don't like that album as much as the former" then I could understand. True it is indeed different and some would consider it a step in the wrong direction. But... metalcore??? Last I checked, metalcore here meant crap like KSE/Atreyu/etc, I fail to see any resemblance of this to Insect Song.

calm down, buddy. i'll phrase my posts however i want. it's a metalcore album. the breakdowns incited plenty of moshing when i saw them play with amorphis a while back. that said, i like the people i've met from that band. they're good guys, but i'm not going to lie and say i liked their metalcore album. i guess i'm going to call your logic faulty, because there's really not much difference between insect song and the majority of metalcore albums out there.

You keep saying "metalcore album". I can point out several songs on that album which don't even have breakdowns, let alone sound metalcore. Well, whatever you want to think....

I agree with Ian
and im a Beyond the embrace fanboy, they helped steer me in the right direction as far as not mainstream metal goes about 4-5 years ago the first tine i seen them at Reflections

I initially read this as "Beyond the Embrace needs new drummer" and was going to saunter in and post "Sorry, I'm a drummer but not a homosexual" but now my fun is ruined because I read the title again.

i'm not thinking anything. this is a fact you just can't accept. get over it. you're egregious.

all the guys in BTE are fuckin awesome dudes.

toggletoggle post by shore at Dec 27,2005 12:20am
Why did the last drummer leave anyways?

toggletoggle post by Al_Ravage   at Dec 27,2005 1:04am
The old drummer was old.
Name a better drummer from Stoneham, name a better drummer from anywhere. Steve is the best drummer ever... he changes bands every week (always trying to find 'the most complicated, fastest band in the world' by his own admission), plays super fast and is very creative, and takes so many drugs I am suprised to hear he is still alive...he is Keith Moon incarnate...if you've seen him play and conversed with him for 10 seconds I don't even have to tell ya....best... drummer... ever

toggletoggle post by pam   at Dec 27,2005 12:39pm
Kevin left, I believe, because he's got some medical problems.

toggletoggle post by anonymous at Jan 20,2006 4:19pm
Among being a great drummer, Steve is a CRAZY guy, I've seen him throw himself threw walls, do backflips and land on his back, he loves it! The kid can scrap too!
