wasteform: I saw the guitarist that left wasteform outside the club... then I get inside and the other guitarist (the one that stayed before) was not there. I guess they did the old switch-a-roo. Anyhow, they came out and blasted through an awesome set. I swear, these guys get better and better each time I see them. They have a new ep out that I can't wait to get.
misery index: I wasn't sure what to expect from them this time. The passed few times I've seen them, they were a little boring, just coming out, playing technically well, but not really rocking out well. With that said, their set was amazing. it sounded so good and they had tops of energy. Matt (the drummer that replaced Kevin) was a machine. I didn't think they could find a person to replace Kevin, but they did it. I need to listen to their new CD a little bit more so I know the new songs. I was singing a lot with every track off the EP.
divine empire: this was the band that I really wanted to see. I had missed them 4 years ago when they played. Their set was awesome. I have Redemption and Doomed to Inherit which I believe will be in my cd player for the next few weeks. They set a song out to the backstabbers in the crowd, though I didn't see any of the bsi kids. Check out their site, they actually do have deathmetal watches
skinless: at first glance on the stage, there was nothing up there for sherwood to climb on. I knew they were going to have to play sick since there was going to be no climbing. I was so impressed. It's been about a year since I saw them, and they just had that new CD release and all (deathwork, the front line of sanity, from sacrifice to survival). They played a bunch of old tracks to that are some of the "favorites" (the optimist, enslavement, tampon lollipops). With all the time activity on the stage, I forgot to watch John (the drummer) blast away. He was amazing to watch in Origin.
dying fetus: 15 songs! It was fucking amazing. Even with all the member changes, dying fetus is still one of my favorite bands to see live. Soooo obvious as the crowd went crazy for all their slow churning break downs. They played so many of my favorite tracks:

it's hard to pick a favorite. oh wait, no it's not... kill your mother, rape your dog! And what's better than that song live is getting a shout out from Vinnie (the lead singer) after a pissing in the mainstream/kymryd medely. |
that group hug is the gayest thing i have ever seen... and i was a part of it =( |
that looks like it's going to hurt in .05 seconds.
put paul on the list of people I don't want to be. |
I wore a sticker that said "I just jerked off". I'm cool.
Oh and heh, sorry paul, but that kinda looks like my fist that's about to pound you. |
hahaha yeah...the same one mike (DeodumMortis) stuck on me! |
my favorite part was not going |
Well then you should've went. |
i would have, but dying fetus and skinless aren't my favorite bands.
they are ok, but not worth more then 10 bucks
They aren't my favorite bands, but I still went. |
also..i gotta add...the RttP mosh crew was in the house! heh
the pics are proof |
haha, i stood in front of you and rev at one point during DF and just knocked away people who got too close.
Hooray for good pictures taken! |
quote of the night, from the divine empire bassist:
* * "do this!" |
what about the profound, "Smoke crack!"? |
no way...
bass player of divine empire: "i've seen more excitment from a pile of dead women" |
thanks joostin.
and what was up with the webelos thing the divine empire bass player was doing,
we-be-loyal-scouts |
That show was so fuckin insane. I stood up by the front right next the singer of every band except wasteform. Sherwood was goin crazy in my face and vince let me and my friend to sing along with grotesque impalement and kill your mother rape your dog. |
LOL rev actually it didnt collide, i managed to spin out of the way right before i fell into his fist haha. Id have to say me and mike were the most hated of that night, but lynchies brutal attack on some poor misery index fan topped it off hahaha. The down side to the show was that there was way to many fights. Fuck that fat kid in the cannibal corpse shirt who decided to try to start a fight with me.
Waste form was pretty sick they played tight and they were great guys
Misery index was amazing. They played all my favorites and they had a ton of energy.
Divine empire was pretty sick. They kinda bored me after a while but they seemed to be cool guys, and the crowd seemed to dig them.
Dying fetus sounded tight and they were pretty good with the new lineup, although its not the same as seeing them with john and talley.
Overall it was a good and fun night |
forgetting a little band called skinless paul? |
This has to have been one of the most brutal shows i have ever been to. I think that Dying Fetus, Skinless, Misery Index, and Wasteform have to be one of the most once in a life time deals. Now if only we can get Cannibal Corpse to play with As I Lay Dying, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Cephalic Carnage!! |
dude did they play all the songs on the set list? |
I believe so.
I don't remember hearding buntforcetrauma or empidemic of hate, but I know they played all the others. |
all i wanna know is why thsi tour didnt come to massachussetts....dying fetus always fucking skips us |
maybe they don't like the palladium or something?
thats the only venue that seems to book metal bands of that size in the whole state
i don't know but i really like venues other than the palladium.. |
o yeah.. btw skinless was banned from the palladium... that might have had something to do wit it |
they were actually banned from worcester.
I guess they pissed off the cops. |
its too bad more touring metal shows dont hit the Middle East, that place is so nice |
I saw Cephalic Carnage at the middle east 2 years ago. The turnout was about as good as a Clippers game. Weak. |
yeah I remember that show too, with TITD? man that was 3 years ago! Im so friggin old! Mortician tore it up that night, Will and the guitar player headbanged for the first song. Roger played the drums while gasping for breath and wheezing through the entire set while wearing his trademark flannel vest and star wars Return of the Jedi shirt. Other than that it was an awesome show! |
nah not the one with TITD (although that was a great show). Cephalic came back to the middle east upstairs a couple of years ago. They played with Kuraxis (Canadian Shadows Fall ripoff), Stasis (Rapcore-SlamDeath go figure), and it was one of the first Watchmaker shows. |
That was a good show. I had fun, and a lot of beers, my favorite place that night was the bar. Divine Empire I liked a lot, I will stock on their albums at the store, the other bands were very good, already saw all of them (beside Wasteform), not for me though. Nothing I would listen to at home (exception would be done at the store).
I really just went to hang out. I really would like to see more metal shows in Providence, but we need another club that doesn't rip you off.
oh yeah! I think I remember that show too. Kuraxis? sounds like Kurixis...maybe some sort of correlation? |
I thought the bassist from Divine Empire looked exactly like Will Ferrel if he had a goatee and long hair. |
yeah i thought i didnt hear those 2 songs. We drove all the way from the chicopee springfield area to see this show and it was well worth it. |
is it me or is that a return to the pit pit
up for the show where Paul made a whole state cry for months.
one of the best nights ever. |
