Myself My Drummer Joel Dee and also Steve of OTB are looking to book shows maybe nothing right away but I was reading that people wanted to know when metal was coming to Melrose so now the question is who wants to play Melrose? We need brutal shit and some serious attendance so lets do this the right way. POST SOMETHING IF YOU HAVE ANY INTREST!-Morbid Mike BMR Bass

Definately do it if you get the chance.

toggletoggle post by BMR at Jan 7,2006 9:12am
We can do the Billerica Masonic Hall to Mikey don't forget that. All the kids who go there to 2-step like a bunch of fruitcakes might object, like I give a fuck. And Reflections in N. Chelmsford I have a contact with, but they're usually 21+ unless it's a national. Would people go to 21+ shows near Lowell if we got the right bands? People like to avoid that area like the plague, I would to except I live there.

I sent you an email.

TTOS is down, and I sent our schedule.

toggletoggle post by Aegathis nli at Jan 7,2006 10:23am
Coffin Birth would want to play there, what dates are they trying to fill?

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 7,2006 10:28am
Here's the deal we don't have anything set up yet but we are going to start setting up shows. We are sick of all the Kenny Lannings of the world putting shitty bands with good bands and mixing genres that are'nt even close so we are taking it upon ourselves to start doing this right paying bands getting good shows at decent to good venues and hopefully getting a good turn out. We love the metal scene and are sick of the division we can own the fucking united states boys so lets get it started.-Morbid Mike "Bred For Brutality Productions"

toggletoggle post by BMR at Jan 7,2006 10:30am
Mikey might have jumped the gun on this just a bit, we have no dates set up or anything like quite yet, we're in the beggining stages of setting this up. We're going to try for 3-5 shows a month on the north Shore and Merrimack Valley area. Once i have a definite date I'll be in contact with whoever may be interested. I know exactly who I want for the first show we do, BMR owes a couple different bands a favor. Nick TTOS, I think Mike E-Mailed you back? We're probably aiming for the beggining of February on that.

P.S. 3HM could be interested.

Let me know if you guys are interested.

This doesn't surprise me.....

I was against booking this place to begin with, to hard to find, this was Mike's idea. I have a contact with the Billerica Masonic Hall, we'll probably be booking there until I can find a suitable venue. I also have a contact with a place called Reflection's in Chelmsford, it's a pretty cool place, great sound but it's generally 21+ and I don't think there would be much of a draw, kids in and around Lowell don't really go to shows for some reason unless it's a Slipknot type clone band. There's a bunch of other places I can get in touch with so I'll do my homework. As it is right now we're aiming for the beggining/mid February for a hall show in Billerica, we'll see how that goes and take it from there. I'll be in touch with a few bands shortly, everyone else WILL be contacted regarding future dates, I assure you.

Do the Masons allow you to book shows as long as you keep kidnapping child slaves for them?

i'd like to know when this started, myself, my bassist, and a friend of ours booked a show there not too long ago, and sin city bookings had nothing to do with it. the show we played there, i believe was in November maybe October 2005. The show was set up by us, and we ran everything, door, food, promotions, booking...... nothing that involved sin city bookings.

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 9,2006 10:13am
hmmm ???

toggletoggle post by Arthur_ATD   at Jan 9,2006 10:41am
I'd say just talk to the owner of the place, he'll rent out the hall to you, dosen't matter what sin city bookings says.

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 9,2006 11:02am
Well Arthur thanks for the info man! What band you play in you want in

Having a "contract" with a place seems to ruin the scene. Who cares who books that place, as long as someone does it?

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Jan 9,2006 12:18pm
we're totally down, and i can offer a swap with you at the next show i book in grafton

i don't know if i trust those damn freemasons though

toggletoggle post by Arthur_ATD   at Jan 9,2006 12:35pm
the masons have basically nothing to do with the show, they only deal with money, and renting out the hall to you for the day, they show up and unlock the place (there supposed to, we had to have the janitor come unlock the place) and they'll mail you your deposit back so long as everything isn't fucked up

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 9,2006 12:57pm
Sounds good guys Sacreligion send meee your e mail man.o0morbidmike0o@yahoo.com

The sound at that place fuckin blows ass.

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 9,2006 1:13pm
thats is true very very true! Need a bigger P.A.

toggletoggle post by Arthur_ATD   at Jan 9,2006 1:15pm
i think a show costs anywhere from $300 - $500 depending on how long you want to rent the hall out for and whether or not you get your deposit back, and thats including the price of renting out a cop for the day, because of the lovely MA law on gatherings of over 50 people. I dont remember the exact cost, i wasn't the one who paid for it. The sound must have sucked when you were there because of the equipment the bands brought. There is no house system, you need to bring your own PA and your own equipment. I'd also suggest drummers if you need floor mats (which in this hall you probably will) to bring your own, or if you dont have one, make frieds with someone who does.

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 9,2006 1:18pm
Thanks for some more info yea the P.A. sucked it was great for vocals but I mean my guitarist have ill equipment and it was still shitty I think its how it was set up the acoustics were broken by the door being wide open.

toggletoggle post by Arthur_ATD   at Jan 9,2006 1:20pm
If you set it up so that the bands are playing against the wall directly in front of you when you walk in, and keep the doors shut, then the acoustics are fine, unless you're standing over near the kitchen, in which case all you get is drums and shitty sounding vocals. and you shouldn't be standing over there anyway, thats boring.

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 9,2006 2:21pm
Thats how it was set up but doors were open so I believe scientifically(acoustically) that is why it sounded so low in volume cause it was all going outside the crowd said we sounded good the kids who mattered anyways but everyone in the band had a hard time hearing eachother I figure if we book this place we will get a P.A. for all instruments shit it will be loud but that's whataa metals all about right?

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 9,2006 2:24pm
put prior to burial and the finite on the same show.

toggletoggle post by Morbid_Mike at Jan 9,2006 2:38pm
prior to burial and finite ok man both metal core ? I have good friends who are looking for shows and they play mean hardcore and I don't even like HC that much but this shits old school like Bane it's pretty cool but the guitarist Kev is def a metal head and it shows so I think they would do well with the bands we played with the other night. Any other suggestions rev you know these bands and their music better than most so let me know.-Mike

Its got nothing to do with the PA. The acoustics of that place suck shit, all the highs bounce off the wood floor and the low ceiling creating a shit ton of indistinguishable noise.
