I've been looking into getting a new guitar. I used to have a BC Rich Warlock which sucked and I had an Epiphone SG series which wasn't that much better but I smashed it because the thing was unrepairable. I'm not a novice but I'm not an amazing guitarist either. I guess I'm looking for a decent guitar that's reasonably priced for someone who isn't that experienced with playing. Anyone got any ideas?

ESP LTD's are the best bang for your buck.

I'd go with an Ibanez your going to get way more quality for your $$ Ltd's are great if you spend 600-800 bucks on it and even then they aren't that great also Shector makes one hell of a guitar but if your willing to spend nothing beats Jackson hands down especially if you can find an older soloist.

Seriously, there are plenty of good guitar companys, it just comes down to personal preference after awhile. I can tell you that low end Ibanez's, LTD's and BC Rich's are no good and wont hold up over time.

Myself personally, I have lots of guitars but the ones I use the most are my Epiphone Les Paul Customs. They play great, they durable as hell, and with a simple pick up swap you have a guitar that will sound like a 3,000 Gibson for a fraction of the price.

I would stay away from new Jacksons now that Fender owns them and rapes them IMO.

mid-high range LTD's are the best as far as a price-quality ratio, I got an awesome Dave Mustaine V for about $600 with a case, it sounds and plays awesome.

i'm partial to USA made guitars but they are usually a lot more money so. ibanez is your best bet.
