First let me say, I really liked how it was shot, and it did stay pretty true to the game.
As much as I really wanted this to be the 'best horror movie in the past 10 years' as you previously stated, I gotta say, I dont think so.

I bought the DVD in advance, I haveto say you get a WAY bigger appreciation for the movie if you see it in theatres.

This is one of my favorate movies. It's different from the game, but I didn't start playing the games until after I saw the movie, which made it better for me.
Obviously if you're a fan of the game you're going to be criticle off the bat of any differences the movie brings to the table.

It's one of those movies that is 100x better in the theares than at home (like the decent and hills have eyes).

I don't know if I would say it's one of the best horror movies to come out in the past ten years, but it's certainly one of my favorate movies that's come out in the past ten years.

I only said it was the best horror movie in however many years because I generally don't care for horror movies. Someone who appreciates horror films more (which I'm taking the liberty of assuming you are) probably wouldn't think that.

The burning and the nurses were the rest of the good points, the rest......Eh.

I also loved the games....I think they were WAYYYYY scarier than the movie, by far.
