Xasthur is really not that bad. He has a few good albums. Flame away though, because I'm sure Malefic actually cares that you don't like his music b/c it came out after 1994.

Xasthur's Nocturnal Poisoning is easily one of the best USBM releases. Nortt's creations are bleak, but I wouldn't really call him Black Metal, entirely. He uses BM imagery, and the vocals are BM-esque, but the music is definitely funeral doom inspired by the likes of Thergothon. Also, what connection can be made between Xasthur and Goth kids? And when has Burzum ever been a "depressing" or "goth" band? Burzum was metal inspired by Norse paganism, with ambient passages, evoking the cold landscape of Norway . If anything, Burzum's music reflects a resentment and rebellion against the christianization of Norway, and his abhorrence towards modern Norway's liberal policies. The comment this kid makes above is retarded, have you even heard Burzum, dude?
