On Broken Wings

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Nov 21,2006 4:15pm
sounds like horrible genericore to me

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at Nov 21,2006 4:21pm
Those tracks sound NOTHING like OBW.

That sounds like OBW riffs with shere khan vocals.

I like the old shit better.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 21,2006 4:23pm
nico's post made me larf!

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 21,2006 4:51pm
i do agree that i do like their older stuff better when j.c. was in the band and did the samples and jon did a higher pitched voice...
both songs riffs sound like variations of "i do my crosswords in pen"
i wonder if they will record it for the 4th time.

the singing is so awful, im sorry that was bad. even for breakdowns they werent hooky at all. sounded a lot like old glass casket...

How in the hell did you draw that conclusion?

toggletoggle post by fhiufdg at Nov 21,2006 5:31pm
What a sorry excuse for a band.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 21,2006 5:32pm
probably the begining of the second song.

what conclusion would that be? that the singing was awful. the breakdowns werent hooky? or that it sounds like old glass casket?

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at Nov 21,2006 6:09pm
The Glass Casket reference.

Are you refering to we are gathered here today?

toggletoggle post by thedeparted   at Nov 21,2006 6:16pm
yes indeed. only glass casket are better. i didnt mean the singing part, i meant the kind of generic breakdowns that glass casket have.

toggletoggle post by Niccolai   at Nov 21,2006 6:19pm
word. I thought you meant the singing.

I was like 'daaamn homie, that shits whack'

toggletoggle post by thedeparted   at Nov 21,2006 6:35pm
nah, just the riffs mainly. plus obw cant match glass casket's tone.

toggletoggle post by babyshaker not logged in at Nov 21,2006 8:48pm
this band constantly sounds like another b and...first they sound like poison the well....then 18 visions...now glass casket see its a never ending cycle

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Nov 21,2006 8:55pm
joe christianni loves it

toggletoggle post by spaldino at Nov 21,2006 10:58pm
not to mention they were rapcore when rapcore was "in"

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Nov 21,2006 11:12pm
little known fact: spaldino was in a rapcore band called the get a long gang.

toggletoggle post by spaldino at Nov 21,2006 11:18pm
yeah... it was christian rapcore praising equality and world peace... we had 2 albums... they rocked the chruch, yo

toggletoggle post by babyshaker not logged in at Nov 22,2006 7:49am
ya the sweeps was pretty lame

toggletoggle post by hybrid   at Nov 22,2006 10:36am
im sure everyone at the palladium will love this.

toggletoggle post by Murph  at Nov 22,2006 11:07am
this isnt even in the same ballpark as Glass Casket.

However, anyone who's heard Nights Like These, who I think are actually on OBW's top friends list, might be feeling some nostalgia.

I like NLT better anyways

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Nov 22,2006 12:34pm
breakdowns in general are generic by nature.

toggletoggle post by thegreatspaldino   at Nov 22,2006 12:34pm

Except the ones in death metal, right? Breakdowns are a part of 95% of metal.

toggletoggle post by pam   at Nov 22,2006 1:20pm
that band is STILL around?

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Nov 22,2006 2:42pm
obw have always and will always be a terrible band. i don't even know why i listened to these songs in the first place.

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 22,2006 2:49pm
i think jon blake's time in prison was a big part of him changing singing styles...
he probably got all his high pitched screaming done in jail and now wants to sound like a "man" i also think johnny cupcakes helped him out with putting a filter on his voice.. but no matter what his clean vocals always sucked.

and i like on broken wings

all i know is the video on their page of jon hitting that kid in the face while he was moshing on stage is priceless...its down on the left

but the first song is alright, the second not so much in my opinion

toggletoggle post by xanonymousx at Nov 22,2006 4:57pm
i agree with your video statement i laugh everytime i see it.
i think anyone that does that on the stage should be hit in the face...
what was he trying to prove? that he is a retard?
