talk about selling out. I'm heading over to this show in an hour 1/2.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 9,2006 4:29pm
Yaaaaaaaaawwwwwnnnnnnnnnnn! The only thing cool about this show is The Sword.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 9,2006 4:37pm
that's the reason I'm going. I missed the sword last time they were around.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 9,2006 4:38pm
You should go to the show at Ralphs after The Sword plays.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 9,2006 4:46pm
ha! I have to shoot at least 3 songs of in flames, but maybe I'll come over to ralphs for the headliner.

the rev and his contracts to see free shows.

Metallah dubs this concert a c-

it could be much better, the inflamers have fallen from the grace of Metallah and now are nothing but semi infidels, but all can come back to the most merciful

I'd love to see Seemless with The Sword, but I'm going to see The Sword with Stinking Lizaveta and Motherboar on the 30th in New York.

it saddens me that cristina is down the street from my house and there's nothing i can do about it without getting arrested :(

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 9,2006 8:31pm
well, she was eating at a resturant near the palladium too. I got an extra ticket and turned around to give it to the person behind me, but they were on will-call. then I gave the ticket to the dude behind them and said "here, you should be all set." I don't think he knew what was going on. no thanks and he didn't go into the show. he just stood in line for tickets.

seemless: their set sounded really good. The bass was kicking over drive down there. I'm pretty sure that the speed of their music worked perfectly with the acustics of the room (*crosses fingers for good sound during the sword*). jesse came running out on stage looking like he just jumped off his harley. What a change of look! I got pissed cause 1/2 way through their set, we got told no flash for any of the bands. Expect sucky pictures to come. Anyhow, their last song was the "single" from their first CD. Kids acted like it was a KSE show and I was surprised by how many crowd surfers there were. the bouncers seemed surprised too, but nobody it the floor.

toggletoggle post by keithmobile at Dec 9,2006 8:46pm
boring, come to ralphs

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 9,2006 9:16pm
I had to park closer to ralph's than to the palladium...

sword, the: damn? Very cool. This set was something completely different from what I normally shoot. I haven't listened to their CD enough to know more than one of the songs they played. They just plain rocked out. Not really any guitar masturbation at all either. At the start of one song, the singer had this really cool vocal harmonizing going on with the guitar plarts he was playing. That was another cool thing, the lead (and only) singer was the lead guitarist. The other dude just played rhythem (and headbanged)... no secret, but seeing these guys was the only reason I chose this show (seen the other bands enough).

lacuna coil is setting up. going on in a few minutes. there are probably 800-900 people here.

toggletoggle post by chris_from_shit_fuck  at Dec 9,2006 9:36pm
Rev, do me a favor and just keep yelling Lunar Strain and Jester Race so that they realize that those are their best albums and should just play songs from those two.

Love, Chris.

lacuna coil: the crowd response was so much better than the last time I saw them at the palladium. There was a steady stream of crowd surfers coming over the barricade. people were rocking out and screaming for them. weird, this is basically the same exact set as they have been doing the whole past couple tours. I pretty sure that I don't know many people in the audience. it's weird seeing 16 year old dudes crowd surfing and jumping up and down for covers of depeche mode that were old when I was their age. this set was really good for them crowd energy wise. I think it's been a long time since I saw people get that into them.

they are playing:
pinball map
leeches
cloud
trigger
egonomic
bottled
vacum
only for the
resin
dead alone
touch of red
drifter
graveland
come clarity
quiet place
take this life
my sweet shadown.

Holy shit they're playing Graveland?!?! Holy shit something off of Jester Race.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 9,2006 11:21pm
I thoughbt they always play that one.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 10,2006 12:15am
"metal" george corrected me, they always moonshield.

in flames: damn, they had two fill in guitarists. I wouldn't have know one of them was a fillin (bjørn replacement) cause he looked just like him (minus the tiger stripes "we don't have money to paint him"). Of course people went apeshit for their new songs, singles and stuff. Anders seemed to not be that excited when he was talking to the crowd. This must be the last night of the tour or something. He was practically sighing in between songs. I can't say much more than that about their set cause I walked around after my 3 songs of terrible pictures and then bounced to catch the tail end of the ralph's dinner show.
This is significantly cutting into carina and my"us time" which I will now rename "Wii time".

pictures are uploading.. finally..

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Dec 10,2006 9:45am
2 fill in guitarists? WTF...

toggletoggle post by cavboredatwork at Dec 10,2006 12:25pm
ya thats wicked lame and that setlist sucks. glad i didnt go to this.

toggletoggle post by cavboredatwork at Dec 10,2006 12:28pm
ok i just looked at the pics....WHY would they have 2 fill in guitarists. if neither of your guitarists can go on tour, dont do the tour! plus its obvious they tried to find guys that looked like them. these dudes must be hurtin for money.

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Dec 10,2006 12:38pm edited Dec 10,2006 12:39pm
Graveland is the only good song on the setlist. the solo in Come Clarity is good, but the song really isn't worth suffering through just to hear the solo

toggletoggle post by Frank Shamrock at Dec 10,2006 12:41pm
Ya pretty lame. Jesper had planned to take the tour off well in advance... so that I can understand. Bjorn's wife went into labor so he had to drop off the tour. At that point, you should cancel in my opinion.

toggletoggle post by Dudehammer at Dec 10,2006 1:02pm
What we all witnessed last night, was In Flaymez finally hitting the ground after a long fall that has lasted the past several years. All typical Korn references aside, well.....actually, yeah....I REALLY felt like I was watching Korn. And when given the choice between touring with or without main members, most bands would choose to not tour at all rather than doing what In Flaymez is doing. At this point, they should just rename this band "Anders' In Flames". How the mighty have fallen.

toggletoggle post by Dudehammer at Dec 10,2006 1:03pm
BTW - Seemless completely owned this show.

toggletoggle post by Kevord  at Dec 10,2006 1:04pm
It reminds me of Kiss. They put two dudes in Jesper and Bjorn Makeup and figured nobody would notice.

toggletoggle post by KeithMutiny  at Dec 10,2006 1:05pm edited Dec 10,2006 1:05pm
anyone that went to this show instead of the one at Ralphs =

GAY.

Agreed. The show last night at Ralph's was great and none of the bands had fill in members. Except Wreckoning who I think were all fill in members.

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Dec 10,2006 1:54pm
I didn't see Pete in any of the Seemless pics. Looks like the dude that was playing bass for them was playing guitar in his place. What's the deal, yo?

also... fuck In Flames (duh). homoz haven't been relevant for ten years...

and i'm not talkin' bout bath-house relevance... because we all know how popular "Soundrack to Your Homoerotic Massage" was with that set.

toggletoggle post by GoatCatalyst   at Dec 10,2006 2:00pm
PS - with the homo bonanza of "Lacuan Coil" AND In Flames both playing... were there any dood-smooching sightings???

toggletoggle post by PryoryofSyn  at Dec 12,2006 7:11pm
I really wanted to see Seemless. Who has the new album?
I don't know much about this band, but I heard one song on Hard Attack last week and it was very different. It's the one about "what a shame about bands sounding the same" along those lines..
sounds like Tool but darker. How's the rest of the CD?
