Where is this PATHOS band from? The CA band broke up.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 12,2007 8:46pm
don't know. haven't heard anyone mention them yet.

The Hills of Hayden: I think it was their first show and I showed up right when they were done.

Clytaemnestra: who brought the metal band to a hardcore show? I was expecting just breakdown after breakdown. Instead, they sounded like amon amarth with some black dahlia murder breakdowns mixed in. they were even all wearing metal gear shirts. When ever they would stray into BDM-ish sound, the antsy moshers would start jumping in the crowd. the rest of thetime was just kids in the front row banging their heads. The singer seemed like he was losing his voice during some of the songs. One of the guitarists had some weird tone to one of the channels of his guitar. It sounded like a keyboard playing during some of his solos. In the end, they claimed they were playing a black sabbath cover. I didn't recognize it, but it had 70's vocals, but most of it sounded like another one of their songs.

playgirl: what a hilarious set. right from the "no, I'm not singing for bury your dead " through the broken equipment to the crashing end. I'm always either keeping people in front of me or the distance between joe and the ceiling cause damn does he swing that mic around wildly. With in a song it was destroyed. He needs to be given 57's not 58a's. Their cone breaks too easy. He also kept talking about the petty underaged girls who all came up to him. Like groupies at the end of their set, they swarmed around him. The bassist kept losing his mic/stand and was usually just screaming into the air. I think the drummer was mad in the end, he got up and walked off after joey jumped through his drums and some other dude moved them for him.

horror story, the: funny that to me, this band just came out of no where. Now, this is the first day of their tour with the banner. I believe all their parents were here for ther show too. Their equipment is so much better than the first 2 bands. They were crazy loud, but the quality was awesome (reminded me of BYD's loudness factor from when joe was in the band.) Again, the set wasn't all striaght mosh mosh mosh so the kids practiced folding their arms for a couple songs (and for some reason all the 2-steping parts). After about 3 songs, the floor warmed up and kids did the weird wiggle arm/leg dances that they've been practicing in their bedrooms. They said something about doing an extra breakdown at the end and it kept people moving. they are having a big party after the show.

dead by dawn: it's been a wicked long time since I've seen this band or any of it's members. They were the grind band on this show. Some of their songs reminded me of the auburn system, but there was a bit more of that seven day curse build up/intros to their breakdowns. When they first started playing, I didn't think anyone would be there dancing for them. After a couple songs (and then til the very end), people danced non- stop for them. the singer is the only one who knows me as the way, the alpha and the omega, your lord and savior.

in dire need: looks like they had to give up the room in their cars for the full stacks in order to fit the new drummer's monster drum set. This is my first time seeing the new drummer and bassplayer. I was trying to guess who the new players were from the entourage that rolled with the IDN crew, but I was wrong. The set went really well. With in the first 2 seconds after their intro, I had 3 15yos piled at my feet. I can't believe that joey is still using that DVD player to doo the samples. The set sounded just like the CD. They definitly waited until the drummer and bassist were ready before coming out of the closet again. The drummer fit in perfectly, but the bassist seems like he's still working at being comforable on stage. While they played there were plenty of familiar (mostly non-CT) trouble-makers dancing.

I've figured out who the groupie girls hanging on joey(playgirl) were. They are joeigellettes, a roving bunch of groupies that follow around singers named joey, waiting for group-kisses. There are even some male joeigellettes called joeigalos, but they wait the same thing as the joeigellettes; group-kisses. let's pray they don't get all twisitio by the end of the night. it's not looking too good though... they got the joeyIDN/joeyPlaygirl double shot. oh my!

bela kiss: I thought I didn't like this band... They got extremely better since I last saw them (st. john's gym?). they were a hell of a lot heavier. Sort of like the heavier anterrabe stuff, but with only with out the same ammount of guitar masturbation and the clean vocals were burried. I recognized the singer and one of the guitarists. they lost their bassist right before heading out on tour. The few kids that were left did their silly little dance while bela kiss played. When the singer said 3-4 more songs, they got asked to only play 2 more songs and the singer tells the promoter "this is what happens when you let bands show up late and play" or something to that effect. true, there was a rather long pause between the first and second band. They ended up playing 3 more.

dylan is the new drummer for in dire need...he was in the band embludgeonment, if you remember who they were. if you don't, they were the straight up death metal band that played the show with upon crimson wings featuring funny hats show in melrose 3 1/2 years ago, haha

banner, the: this was probably the sloppiest set I've seen from them. I was thinking that as I watched the drummer mess up a bunch. Then they said he's only played with the band 5 times including their practices. By the end of the set, he wasn't hesitating and it sounded much better. There were only a few kids that stuck it out til the end, but they were treated to a misfits song. I think it was we bite.
"do you like the misfits?"
"yes" almost colectively.
"how come when you ask people if they like the misfits, they say yes, but then they never know the song."
I'm guessing cause it's not skull or london dungeon.
