New site? Maybe some day.

sittin on a wall, waitin to be able to park. |

my phone just deleted 3 reviews... Grr...
putrescence: was too busy dealing/worrying about car. Brutal stuff none the less.
exhale se: wasn't impressed until after 2nd song.
fuck the facts: ripped. New songs ripped.
jigsore terror: the drummer sang and looked like the drummer for general surgery. Not sure. Someone confirm. The were awesome sounding and the drummer didn't miss a beat while singing. it seems like this band is a bigger deal then the time slot they got. |
jigsore terror has member(s) from birdflesh. that's all i know. oh yeah, they kill. one of the main bands i wanted to see at the fest. |
it's hot as a mofo in here. pretty disgusting. |
odious mortem: they've been wicked hyped up lately. I didn't know what to expect. It was sort of techy death metal. Some videogame riffing, but not too much. The singer moved and posed a lot like guy (red chord).
retaliation:wicked wicked short songs. The bassist drooled all over himself the whole set.. in a few ways, they reminded me of watchmaker. Mostly the vocals. |
adde is the drummer is birdflesh, general surgery and jigsore terror |
misery index: always a completely powerful performance. I unfortunately missed that last few songs they played if anyone would care to tell me what songs they played.. I know they played alive.
ghoul: the absolute best performance of the night. I called it before hand and the band delivered in full. They came out in their hoods and blasted through tons of creepy tunes. they had time to play more (but weren't able too). wearing a mask on that stage is a good way to shed the pounds.
birdflesh: same drummer as jigsore terror and general surgery. I was right. Their set was so much better than last year. So much better is sort of an understatement. After listening to their CD and seeing them 2 years ago, I wrote them off as a muppet grind band that just plays all stupid noises. This set reversed that. Their new CD (if it sounds like that) is going to kick ass. Their last song was an country song. The guitarist and bassist swtched. each time that drummer got on that stage, he ruled more and kicked more ass. he makes a great front man even when he's stuck behind the kit. |
cripple bastards: wow do I wish they could have played in boston the other day. That would have been awesome. Anyhow, they were so over the top heavey. The singer just got this crazed stare and would belt out this intense throat ripping yell. Who in this band is original? The singer and bassist look a lot younger. these guys touring with ENT is awesome.
gut de: well, the lights went out and I snapped a shot of some girl dancing on stage with the lights out. When they came on it was nunwhore commando 666's dudes with all the same posse from yesterday, but with more girls who just fake humped each other and the band. Turning them from the awesomeness that everyone brags about them into a joke. The bouncers were in panic mode and the dudes on stage (evan and the rest of the crew) started to go into panic mode. Evan pulled the girls off the stage before the porno-grind went into a real porno. 2-points for Evan cause I couldn't really get shots of the stage/band before that. Then, one of their friends kept tossing CDs, tshirts, and colt 45s... That dude got his stuff taken and finally, the set was able to start for real. I moved to the back of the room at that point. Someone had gone on stage and adjusted the vocal shifter too. Once I was in the back of the room away from all the BS, they sounded awesome. Makes me want to stand in the back with a telephoto and listen from the sound board. |
The only original member of Cripple Bastards left is Giulio, the vocalist. |
ugh.. I guess there was the one fight during misery index and then while the whole gut dibocal was going down, all the bouncers got involved in some fight that went out into the streets. At some point during this someone punched over the barricade and hit Evan. now, that's like punching your grandpa in the face after he gave you exactly what you wanted for xmas. Well, if your grandpa was in his 20s with the ability to kick your ass. What I'm trying to say here is, not cool.
dead infection: wow, so much better than at the middle east. They got a super long set, the got into it, but I didn't see any crowd surfing. After the tension level was raised up, this was probably a good idea. they played awesome. Straight Ultra brutal dm with no bs at all. They (tried to) talked to the crowd a lot less than the boston show. Still, wow. People here really really liked them. |
birdflesh is the real deal |
malevolent creation: hoffman's other band wasn't good, but back in MC, he's better than he ever was. The stage presence of 20+ years on stage and a voice to match. the rest of the band wasn't 1/2 bad either. Hah. I thought the drummer was going to deafen me through my earplugs. Up to this point, including both days, the security had only dropped one person (that I saw, but that was cause it was out of the blue and they weren't expecting or looking and the dude just hit the floor) maybe they are getting tired, but they dropped a couple people while trying to catch them. I will give it to them, one of the crowd surfers that fell was injured, but so was the bouncer trying to catch him. When the next surfer who was dropped came over, the bouncer landed on the ground with the surfer on top of him. er.. Long story, not interesting. MC's set was crazy long. The bassplayer got a drink tossed at him "whoever did that, I hope your kids are born retarded." from the pictures, you will see how much they kicked ass. What you won't see is the fact that they played only old stuff. Nothing off their already recorded, but not released CD. Hopefully, the young crowd that stayed liked what they heard and will go buy some of their old stuff. just think, they've been around almost as long as slayer so they gotta be good, right? |
birdflesh rules. one of the best "mix" cd's i ever made was a dream split cd between birdflesh and inhume. |

the person was swinging at ryan, not evan (someone reported it wrong) and though he's smaller than evan, don't mess with this fest.
the whole story is here. r.e.s.p.e.c.t.

Gut were fucking shit and wankers at obscene extreme in czech repbulic last year, fuck those guys!
Up with Swedish grindcore |
the entire weekend was a blur. every band fucking ruled, even the ones that didn't. stopping in PA to buy fireworks and eat at sonic was fun as fuck |
I had a Mr Pibb and ate at an A&W, cheese curds rule!
Cara and I actually found the diner and Royal gas station right where The House of Rock was, weird!
I bought a cool skull axe from some guy selling his random stuff while pumping gas, good times.
Cara is an awesome co-pilot, hope we hang out more like we used to. |
maybe, but she's a terrible drunk.
always losing the rockstars she's supose to be hanging out with. |

zyklon: it look a long time to set up. They went on like 20 minutes late. Once they started, it was excellent. I joke that all their songs sound the same, like a whirl wind blackmetal tornado. That might be true, but their songs and set were still intense. The drummer had absolutely precise drums set up. To the point that a guy was running around adjusting all the angles of everything. While their set went on. I think that the one thing they have over emperor is the catchy choruses. Just about every song has a hook in the middle. |
jesus fuck... i missed them too^ |
there are more black people in baltimore than nigeria. |
I heard nigeria was importing them from baltimore.
I must say, all the black people I met there were extremely polite and nice. |
