New site? Maybe some day.
Just heard he signed with us for 3 years, dunno how true it is yet, anyone heard anything? |
i kind of had a feeling he would stay, though the idea of him going to the yanks was pretty scary, he knew what it would mean if he did |
they didn't spend much, either. nice. |

i saw that a few minutes ago and thought the same thing. i wish the red sox had kept him. the white sox just made the angels look stupid. |
surprised we got him for only three years, score |
lowell is only a product of the guys hitting in front of him. He's not worth the money |

what else would you expect from killswitch homo? |
thats completely untrue. Aside from (by the numbers) the best defensive 3rd baseman in red sox history he was hitting when manny and ortiz had dry spots throughout the season. He's definitely more comfortable near ortiz and ramirez but to say he couldnt do it without them is ridiculous. AVG .324, HR 21, RBI 120, OBP .378, SLG .501...Yep completely NOT worth the money. |
that was directed to rilly btw. |
exactly, he was hitting homers when they weren't, he's one of the reasons we won the series |
wasnt he also the world series mvp? |
sure was...i also believe he has the highest fielding percentage for a third baseman ever..i could be wrong but im pretty confident. |
I disagree completely on Cabrera / Garland. Trading a 33yo SS for a 28yo SP who's pitched 200 innings at league average for the last 3 years is completely stupid. I'm betting this leads to LA trading for either of the Miggys (Cabrera or Tejada). |
he also had a ridiculous season for the marlins a few years back with a whole mess of homers. manny and papi weren't in that marlins lineup. |
Der. I meant the other way around - Chicago got fleeced. |
garland is a decent pitcher, but i think cabrera is more valuable. if the angels get tejada or miggy cabrera, then the deal definitely made sense for them. |

i agree. cabrera's underrated and all that, but you can never have enough pitching, especially a guy who eats up innings like garland, who also had a pretty fucking solid year just two years ago. mid 3 ERA i think. not too shabby in the AL. |
i guess i can see it your way, guys. makes sense for LA considering garland is still pretty young and not too far removed from success. |
I like Cabrera, but LA's got a ton of minor league talent and this enables them to spin off Ervin Santana and say, Wood, Aybar, etc. |
Now, where are we gonna trade off Coco to? And for what? |

more pitching, florida is looking to get rid of D Train.

that dood had one good moment for the Sox and that was helping clinch the east division by hitting the pitching rubber and diving head first into well first.
otherwise that dood was a heal. |

i say we go after Torii Hunter |
i say coco for pat neshak of the twins. i hope the dude above me isnt serious |
eh i wouldnt even mind if coco stuck around. he's fun to watch in the outfield. |
ellsbury is the starting center fielder, coco will probably go to atlanta or texas for a catcher. |
Pssssshh
Sorry, but I don't think Coco is gonna get us the D-Train. Plus, we are kinda stuffed on pitching and he has been shaky lately.
Torii Hunter, we have no use for. Outfielder for an Outfielder while we are doing this trade to make room for Ellsbery to take center field.
Makes no sense.
If we can get a solid bullpen pitcher or a good prospect or two at the single or double A level, that would work well.
Best bet for Coco would be if he gets traded into the National Leauge. |
mortalis just reminded me of that. A catching prospect, which are hard to come by for guys that have SERIOUS potential. |
how long does Varitek have left on his contract? |
coco for a catcher or more relief pitching. |

if youre thinking gerald laird or saltalamacchia, i think we're gonna have to give up more than just coco |

of course we'd have to give up more for one of those guys. i'd think we'd have to give up more if we wanted to get pat neshek, too, with his ERA under 3. |

but i've seen those two teams mentioned in rumors with coco, and it seems like it makes the most sense of anything i've heard so far. |
