I have found a way to beat the test. Do you think this innovation would be worth selling? How much would you be willing to pay? Curious because if I go forward with this it will take a lot of money to market.

toggletoggle post by theaccurseddrummer  at Dec 12,2007 12:47am
Look dude, I'm telling you, nobody's going to buy into sipping your secret sauce to try and beat a Breathalyzer, there's enough Xanax in that shit to kill a moose, so either way you'd get tagged for a DUI.

toggletoggle post by horror_tang  at Dec 12,2007 12:50am
No, I am dead serious. This is no mystical Xanax mixture. This is the real deal. I have a worked on a few inventions and this seems like it could be the most marketable.

I don't know if this is supposed to turn into a joke later on in the thread, but I think marketing a product to allow people to more comfortably drive drunk is stupid.

oh...look who it is; mister I don't need alcohol to enjoy life

This is not a joke. Allowing the government to dictate whether or not we can drink and drive is an infringement on our civil liberties. "But it's for or own good." Well, now you have to wear a seatbelt. Yes, statistically there has been shown to be a 50% intoxicant related causal rate of motor vehicle accident deaths (notice I did not say alcohol related). That means 50% are from sober drivers. When a driver dies in a car accident and alcohol and drugs are found in their system, it is reported as a drunk driving fatality. Was it the drugs or the alcohol? Who compiled the statistics?

The truth is that the leading cause of motor vehicle accident deaths is driver distraction. Talking on a cell phone or eating breakfast on the way to work while driving is more likely to cause a motor vehicle fatality than someone driving drunk. The true number of deaths caused by drunk drivers is more comparable to deaths caused by drivers that fall asleep behind the wheel.

Can you market being huge and terrifying? I'm pretty sure cops just pull you over and say "fuck that".

toggletoggle post by horror_tang  at Dec 12,2007 11:25am
That's my own thing. I have somethin else for the masses.

toggletoggle post by pam   at Dec 12,2007 11:29am
I can safely say that 99% of the times I've almost been killed in a car was due to some white-hat schmuck in a shitty Japanese car trying to do 100 through traffic on the highway or because some fucking idiot on their cell phone isn't watching the road.

toggletoggle post by zymosis nli at Dec 12,2007 11:31am
Um...and being shitplastered behind the wheel isn't driver distraction? Using up what brain power you've got left at that point to "keep it between the lines" or not slam into someone or something?

Listen man, I understand your point..but I've got more than a few friends with DUIs and a few who have lost family members to drunk drivers and that shit is no joke. This whole "you're only as drunk as you think you are" is completely ridiculous. If you fail a breathalyzer, it's your own fault and you probably should've though of that before you decided to get hammered and cruise around. That shit just doesn't make sense...if you wanna beat a breathalyzer, DON'T GET IN THE FUCKING CAR...it's called a Taxi..check it out sometime.

driving is just altogether hazardous to your health. being drunk on the Shoeleather Express isn't illegal or dangerous.

moral values aside...if you have something that will help people avoid DUI's, and is something tangible that you can market and sell, then yes, you will definitely be able to make some coin.

ive passed a breathalyzer before, real easy
just dont blow into the fuckin thing hahahaha
it sounds stupid, but if you just barely blow into it
it will register an error, just keep doing that and then when the pigs ask whats up tell them you have a chest cold and have poor lung capacity

that has some merit but i have witnessed numerous drunk drivers that swerve violently onto the wrong side of the road and hit parked cars and all sorts of other shit. most notably i have witnessed someone do exactly that, swerve uncontroably back and forth onto the wrong side of the road and then nail a telephone pole... i witnessed this in my rear view mirror. are you going to tell me that getting tanked and driving (which i have no real problem with actually, you can ask numerous friends and acquaintances) is the same as eating a burger or snack wrap while driving? just because 90% of the people can do something, it doesnt mean that they all can.

there have been actual tests that show most people become shittier drivers the more drunk they are. i WOULD classify that as driver distraction though.

have you actually researched these statistics? 50% of fatal accidents are from intoxicated operators? i can toss around numbers that sound optimistic too...

79.4% of people that read my posts agree with me.

see? its easy. im not trying to attack you or anything with this, im just saying that i dont really believe these are factual statistics you are referencing and that i dont agree with some of what you said. i DO believe that the blood alcohol limit should be a little higher, but they arent gonna change that. i can probably blow a high number on a breathalizer and not be anywhere near as drunk and incoherent as someone that blew a lower number and that is a smaller person.

all in all... if you dont want to get a ticket or go to jail dont get obliterated before you drive. a lot of the times with any situation you find yourself in with a cop that pulled you over, they know before hand whether or not they are gonna ticket you/take you in and if they dont have that determined, dont give them a reason to. its about half and half your judgement and the cop's incentive.

while i don't think it should be legal to drink and drive, i DO think that i should be able to stick my hand out the window and discharge a firearm blindly into the street whenever i please. furthermore,
