The Inaugural THRASH & BURN TOUR

The organizers of the SUMMER SLAUGHTER Tour have just announced a second nationwide underground festival tour to take place later in the Summer

It's called The THRASH & BURN Tour, presented by REVOLVER MAGAZINE in conjunction with DEATHCOTE, MERCH NOW and IRON FIST CLOTHING.

While SUMMER SLAUGHTER is known to be "The Most Extreme Tour of the Year" with a cutting edge line-up focused on pure progressive brutality and the different faces of death metal, The THRASH & BURN Tour will showcase a diverse mix of underground metal bands who draw from decades of Thrash, Punk and Hardcore to mold their 21st century sounds. DARKEST HOUR, fresh off their tour with AT THE GATES has been chosen to headline this tour.

THRASH & BURN aims to give the underground metal fan a relatively inexpensive way to see two handfuls of the most relevant bands today in an indoor setting.

Tour Organizer Mike Mowery comments "We aim to provide an inexpensive day of metal, thrash and punk. We've chosen a number of bands who compliment each other very well, yet keeping it diverse enough so there's something for the shredders, the moshers and the scenesters alike."

DARKEST HOUR will be supported by Parkway Drive, Misery Signals, Winds of Plague, Stick to Your Guns, Arsis, Light this City, Arsonists Get All the Girls and After the Burial. All stops on the tour will see the addition of a special guest band for a total of 10 national acts each night. Special Guests scheduled to appear on certain dates include Suicide Silence, As Blood Runs Black, Emmure, Veil of Maya, Brother Von Doom and more.

DARKEST HOUR's unofficial moniker LIVE TO THRASH, THRASH TO LIVE made them a perfect fit to headline the tour. Guitarist Mike Schleibaum had this to say: "Darkest Hour is excited to headline this year's inaugural Thrash and Burn tour. Touring with younger bands has always been something we have been about. It's a good way to keep metal evolving and progressing. We are stoked to be able to tour along with good friends Misery Signals, Parkway Drive, and Light this City and of course we look forward to hanging and partying with all the new friends we are soon to make! We want to send Deliver Us out with a party so see everyone in the pit!"

THRASH & BURN Tour Organizer Ash Avildsen had this to add:
"We wanted to make a tour that could give people a chance to see young bands in the current underground that have made their own voice by drawing from a range of influences in heavy music throughout the past 20 years. I have always felt that Darkest Hour are one of the few bands that have truly been able to capture the timeless power of Thrash and Gothenburg metal with the modern energy and passion of punk and hardcore. With that being said, we couldn't have asked for a better headliner to launch the Thrash and Burn Tour in 2008. And If there is one thing that can bring the worlds of metal, punk and hardcore together, it's a circle pit. Washington DC's DARKEST HOUR will show you how this Summer."

Arsis and Winds of Plague are the only good bands on there. what a terrible excuse for a tour.

thrash was cool again two years ago.

none of those bands are thrash, But the majority is indeed Trash. I like misery signals, but mostly because of the drumming and cool melodic stuff, arsis is pretty cool i guess too.

Wow. What a terrible tour.

its basically all junk bands from the NEMHF with a few cool ones...
then the summer slaughter is like more deathcore and this is more metal core i guess.

yeah this blows, but for some reason i get a kick out of Parkway Drive. i hate the lyrics, i hate the band name, i hate the band members, but i don't hate the music. i find it to be brainlessly entertaining for some reason.
