DIMMU BORGIR For OZZFEST 2004? - Feb. 11, 2004

Norwegian symphonic black metallers DIMMU BORGIR are "90% confirmed" for the main stage at Ozzfest 2004, an informed source has told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. As previously reported, JUDAS PRIEST and SLAYER are also said to be in talks to play the main stage at the annual traveling festival, which will once again be headlined by OZZY OSBOURNE. Meanwhile, SLIPKNOT and HATEBREED are said to be "all but confirmed" to co-headline Ozzfest 2004's second stage. An official announcement regarding the exact lineup for the festival is expected to be made at a press conference on Thursday, February 19.

Am I the only person that doesn't like these guys or COB?

I think so, because they are both fucking awesome.

no dimmu! don't play with all those shitty nu-metal and hardcore bands NOOOOOOOOOOOOO, slayer rules

toggletoggle post by moran   at Feb 11,2004 8:16pm
Imagine them outside, at the Tweeter center. It just wouldn't seem right.

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Feb 11,2004 8:47pm
Imagine them playing before it got dark, they'd whine and cry all day until they'd wasted enough time for several bands to have played and for the sun to go down.
I wonder who'll be behind the kit.

God damn it. This pisses me off. I cant understand a concert with the likes of Slayer, Judas Priest and Dimmu Borgir with the crappiness of korn, slipknot, mudvein and disturbed. It fucking pisses me off! I saw this happening. Dimmu's new cd sucks, in my opinion, and I guess a tool move like this was inevitable, but I hate to see a good black metal band turn into a trend. Lately, there are little gothlings at my school wearing Dimmu shirts from hot topic, and if music makes it to my school, that means its a trend considering my school has a 98 percentile of mallcore, moth child idiots with stupid chain pants. As for Slayer, Im not really surprised, I guess. I dont listen to any Slayer after Seasons for obvious reasons anyway.

personally, i think the new dimmu kicks ass. and bands like them not only need, but deserve this type of exposure.will they be playing with a bunch of other shitty bands? yea. however those shitty bands, by some miracle of god, sell shitloads of albums. henceforth, shitloads of people are going to go see them, henceforth they will also see Dimmu Borgir. I for one am all for Death and Black metal bands being played on TV, mainstream Radio, ect. i'd love to turn on MTV and see the new Suffocation video. hell they're putting dimmu on the MAIN stage, and Slipknot is only going to be on the second stage and they're bigger than dimmu. I feel this is a step forward. It's time to show those idiot nu-metal kids some REAL metal, and put jokes like Disturbed to shame

It won't happen, because all those kids and drunks dipshits who are there for Disturbed are going to hate Dimmu, they won't even listen.

guess what i listened to before i got into death metal. Korn, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, ect. oh yea, i did. then i discovered bands like morbid angel and realized just how insanely stupid those other bands were. if i can change, they can.

toggletoggle post by moran   at Feb 12,2004 12:18am
I realize that, cause was the same way, but the majority of people won't. Most people who go to Ozzfest just want to "Fuck shit up". And they're dumb for doing so.

toggletoggle post by Kalopsia   at Feb 12,2004 12:34am
of course not everbody will like it, but many will

toggletoggle post by moran   at Feb 12,2004 1:00am
I don't know, I'm still sceptical. But then again, I haven't heard the new shit yet.

i'm all for black and death metal getting what they deserve, but the thought of Shagrath hanging out with the likes of the singer from korn leaves a bad taste in my mouth

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Feb 12,2004 2:17am
All the normal crap on Ozzfest = bad
Dimmu's latest album = bad
Since everyone there already likes bad music, they should at least like the most recent songs out of Dimmu's set.
What I would like to see is a good black or death metal band getting that exposer, not one that's already on the decline. Cradle lost it long before their spot on Ozzfest and Dimmu are conveniently starting to lose it just before their probable turn.
Here are a couple ideas I'd like to see which means they'll never happen:
SYL two slots before Ozzy on the main stage.
Tell everyone Skipknot's sceduled but have The Berzerker come out instead.
Vader instead of Disturbed.
Behemoth instead of Disturbed.
Dark Funeral instead of Disturbed.
Hell, Ascendancy instead of Disturbed.
Fucking ANYONE instead of Disturbed.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 12,2004 9:41am
Metla Josh (rip) once said to me once that he loved going up to kids with slipknot shirts and giving them good CD cause they might be savable.

though, it's hard to be grim when you are getting a sun tan

You could always tan the word "grim" into your chest.
