i think he was doing an impression of what my typical reaction would be.

but yea, that dude plays some serious piano.

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Sep 3,2008 11:59pm

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Sep 4,2008 12:00am
like... THE dude? doesn't really look like him...unless he cleaned up and learned piano, that is.

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Sep 4,2008 12:01am
it kinda reminds me of that video where that indian guy has a stroke

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Sep 4,2008 12:05am
never seen that video.. but indians having strokes would make me sad :(

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Sep 4,2008 12:07am
well maybe we can put the stroke video to the audio of the piano playing and it will balance itself out?

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Sep 4,2008 12:08am
hmm... id probably just close my eyes

toggletoggle post by ellesarusrex  at Sep 4,2008 8:57am
no..we pretty much just drove up rt two mohawk. tried to find hoosac tunnel but my blackberry had no service to i couldnt get at it.. then we explored around mohawk state park and wound up going up to mt monadnock for a few hours.. then somehow wound up at mike's bbq. ill be going back up this fall to explore the hoosac and camp out in the woods. .....maybe ill do tanglewood next year i was overwhelmed with the beauty and the breezy driving.

classical is good for bedtime.

absolutely. Did you know that BR devoloped the hell/toe technique that so many death metal drummers use for faster DB with one foot.

toggletoggle post by orgymf@work at Sep 4,2008 10:17am
yes sir i did.
i also know that he was technically the first drummer to ever play a "blast beat"

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Sep 4,2008 10:23am
yes, he was amazing. I might be wrong, but i think he was the ONE OF the first to do the "Gravity Blast" where he hits coming down and up on the snare with one hand.

toggletoggle post by orgymf@work at Sep 4,2008 10:26am
correct again sir.

you ever see the video of him and Gene Kroopa drumming back and forth, and Sammy Davis Jr. immitating the snare hits by tap dancing out the same patterns.

dude Buddy Rich is beyond awesome. his videos on youtube are amazing. the last one he played before he died is moving, he was so sick but when he got those sticks in his hands he played like nothing else in the world mattered. i love the drum off he has with Animal.

seriously, it is amazing how well he played right up til the very last time he picked up the sticks.

and yes, that animal drum off is one of my favorite videos of all time
