Symphony X at the Palladium, November 19th. Doors 7PM, show at 8PM. No word on openers (kinda curious about that myself).

Anyone else going?

toggletoggle post by MillenialKingdom  at Nov 12,2008 11:52am
I wanted to go so bad but I'm working.

toggletoggle post by darkwor at Nov 12,2008 12:01pm
No word on openers hopefully means they will play The Odyssey in it's entirety. I'm not missing this.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Nov 12,2008 12:05pm
marvel at Romeo's tiny hands

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 12:06pm
They played the Odyssey at the last Palladium show. It was amazing.

darkwar is refering to the entire album, not the song..

Darkwar- Can i maybe barter with you for rides? I REALLY love this band, and none of my boston friends w/cars like em. Please?

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 12:31pm
hey ouchdrummer, I can be bartered as well!

toggletoggle post by darkwor at Nov 12,2008 12:37pm
NO JIM, it's a great album but I'm referring to THE SONG. And yes I don't mind picking you up in exchange, I was gonna get you to go anyway because it'd be tough getting anyone else around here to go.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 12:39pm
I have a car too I mean!

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 12,2008 1:01pm
where you from bob? I live in southie. And if you were going to worchester from boston that night, it would make Jon's (darkwar's) night easier. And we could still meet up with jon at the show...

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 1:07pm
I live in Brookline and would be leaving from B-line, but I'm flexible.

toggletoggle post by aril at Nov 12,2008 1:28pm
i might be there too. free tickets

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 12,2008 1:31pm
what do you mean "leaving from bline?" you mean taking the train to your car on the b-line then driving? If so, what time?

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 1:34pm
haha, sorry, b-line=Brookline sometimes. I am by the B-line though haha. I'd probably leave sometime between 5 and 5:30ish. Traffic will probably be awful.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 1:35pm
hey aril, any free tickets to share with us?

toggletoggle post by aril at Nov 12,2008 1:35pm
gotta ask my friend. he happens to be the same person i'm going to the heathen crusade with. considering this will be the next day after we come back, I'm still not even sure if i'm going

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 1:43pm
better explanation: I'm by Coolidge Corner in Brookline and I'll probably be leaving from there. Though if you need me to pick you up somewhere, that's cool (though it'd be easier for you to come here since Route 9 is right here). I'll be leaving sometime between 5 and 5:30. hehe sorry about the confusion!

toggletoggle post by darkwor at Nov 12,2008 1:59pm
you take route 9 to the palladium from brookline and you're leaving between 5-5:30?

the show starts at 8. leave at 7 and take the pike. smooth sailing.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 12,2008 2:40pm
yeah, like jon said, 5-5:30 is too early. But i will be there whenever you want me to be there. I can take the train anywhere you want me to. How about actually in Coolidge corner? I will take the c-line outbound to there after work, which i can make early, or my normal time will get me there at about 6:30... wanna do that, or do you wanna leave earlier? I am fine with either, although i am gonna have to get real stoned before to deal with all the 5pm traffic...

Here's a question for ya, weed in the car... yes/no? It's not a dealbreaker, i will just smoke copious amounts before you show.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 12,2008 2:50pm
darkwor's suggestion is a good one actually so I'll go with his recommendation. If you could meet me at Coolidge Corner at 6:45, that'd be awesome (seems like a good compromise between 6:30 and 7 hehe)!

I'd rather not weed in my car if you don't mind. Nothing personal! Before and after is up to you!

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 12,2008 3:01pm
sounds like a plan. So 6:45 aye? Sounds good, i will hit you up with a pm with personal info so we can make sure this happens.,

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Nov 12,2008 3:02pm
weed in a car = winning combination

toggletoggle post by darkwor at Nov 12,2008 3:05pm
badass, i will see you guys there.

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 12,2008 3:09pm
yeah, saves you a trip to boston jon....

Bob-The only problem with this "bartering" situation is that without weed in your car, i can't really trade weed for a ride... aka- i will give you gas money, therefor it will no longer be bartering, it will be services rendered for cash payment... which is fine.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 18,2008 9:56am
bumping this up!

ouch - gas money will be appreciated, but if you want to trade a boarcorpse CD for a ride, that would work as well! hehe

toggletoggle post by ddrummer at Nov 18,2008 10:19am
Hypersolid announced as opener

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 18,2008 10:53am
I saw that. Not a surprising selection...

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 18,2008 12:44pm
HYPERSOLID!!!!???!!! wow, my old band used to play with them ALL THE TIME! As in 7 or 8 years ago that is. wow.

BOB- I will happily give you gas money. And as many free OUCH cds as you want, as boarcorpse doesn't have any cds yet.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Nov 18,2008 12:55pm
hahahahaha Hypersolid, we too played with them all the time back in like 03.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 18,2008 1:29pm
I saw Hypersolid open for Edguy and Kamelot and honestly I wasn't totally impressed, however I'll give them a second try!

Ouch - Free OUCH cds?! Hellyeah! Thank you!

toggletoggle post by archaeon@skewl at Nov 18,2008 1:45pm
When i went to see them last summer there was someone reading a book during their set

NERDYNERDNERD

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 18,2008 2:00pm
i read books....

but anyways, yea bob, this will be a blast. I will meet you at about 6:45 in Coolidge corner.

YETI: what band were you in back then? I was the drummer for "without" back then.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 18,2008 2:26pm
sweet! Sounds good to me! Wow, 2003 is considered back then? Something's wrong with that statement!

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Nov 18,2008 3:17pm
well it was almost 6 years ago. While six years might not be incredibly long to you, it's more than 1/5th of my life.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Nov 18,2008 3:19pm
Ouch - that was when Sacreligion was first starting. before that i was in an unfortunately short-lived band called Stone Orchard.

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 19,2008 7:42am
TONIGHT!

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 19,2008 5:00pm
OUCHDRUMMER DUMPED ME! MY LIFE IS IN RUINS! :'(

toggletoggle post by boblovesmusic   at Nov 20,2008 10:37am
I was pleased that it was upstairs opposed to downstairs. The sound still sucked, but I love small venues. Also my first time in the upstairs. Pretty nifty.

I missed the first band which I was told were really good, much to my disappointment.

Hypersolid - Second time seeing them. They have a new vocalist and as a result they've moved to a more melodeath, dare I say metalcore, sound. Digged them in the beginning, but towards the end I lost interest. The new vocalist looked really tired which made for a bad performance. His stage banter was awful "You know when you have that thing... and then there's that second thing." wft? Sorry to say, but they were disappointing.

Symphony X - Amazing as always, though the Palladium's sound made listening kinda awful. Could barely hear the keyboards and Russell was also a bit too soft. You could hear him wonderfully during the ballad songs and the soft parts, but during the heavier parts you could barely hear him. Fortunately the audience knew all the lyrics so it ALMOST made up for it... (it was awesome to hear everyone sing along with King Of Terrors or Paradise Lost) Once I got used to the awful sound, it was awesome. Russell Allen is one of the best frontmen out there, hilarious in between songs, has an amazing bark and can sing soulfully. Shorter set that I would've liked, but I was loosing steam towards the end so it was just right. They did the Odyssey and The Divine Wings Of Tragedy! Just kidding! hehe

Driving there and back was kinda nice.

WAH?! Nick Nolte isn't singing anymore??
