FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Metal Blade Records announces signing of Boston Mass act RAVAGE!
Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the addition of Boston Massachusetts metalers RAVAGE to its roster. The heavy metal band RAVAGE began as the idea of two young brothers from Boston Massachusetts, whom fans would come to know as Al Ravage and Eli Joe, who wished to form a band that could bring bombastic heavy metal back to prominence and crush the insipid alterna-grunge music craze of the mid-90's. Though the barely-high school aged rockers had mighty ambitions when they played their first gig in 1996, they quickly learned that Rome was not built in a day, and RAVAGE had to work on honing their sound and forging their way through the local underground metal scene. Now in their early 20’s RAVAGE is ready to show the metal world what they’re made of with their Metal Blade debut The End of Tomorrow, which will drop in the late summer of 2009 and features cover art by none other than Ed Repka (MEGADETH, DEATH, AUSTRIAN DEATH MACHINE).
"Everyone in the band is thrilled to have the opportunity to have our music released by a record company that is not only one of the greatest heavy metal record labels ever, but also a label that is currently home to many of our favorite bands (such as LIZZY BORDEN, CANNIBAL CORPSE, KING DIAMOND, AMON AMARTH etc). Metal Blade has released some of the classic metal albums of all time and Ravage welcomes the opportunity to make our own mark on the scene. Only Brian and Metal Blade had the guts to put this deal together with a band that has never bowed to trends or used gimmickry to fit in, a band that has always forged ahead toward fresh musical ground in the face of those who wanted us to become some sort of goofy retro-act or clone of whatever was hip. So on behalf of the band, I'd like to thank all the fans in the local scene, national scene and abroad who have stuck by us thus far, the promoters who've dared book us, the small labels who dared release our early work, those in the press who dared stand up to the feeble-minded trendmakers, the [few] DJ’s who've played us, and all the great bands we've played with. This is just another step on a long road as we continue our mission to put out some quality, no-bullshit, heavy metal music that real metalheads can be proud of. Keep headbangin' with us and RAVAGE IN PEACE!!!" commented singer Al RAVAGE
“RAVAGE brings a fresh element to pure metal conveying a young and modern vibe to old school thrash/power metal. It’s this type of musical resurrection that will break new ground for metal and we couldn’t be more excited to unleash them to the masses!” Metal Blade
RAVAGE's new album seamlessly intertwines the sounds of New Wave of British Heavy Metal, late 80's American Thrash Metal and late 90's European power metal to showcase the band's signature style. The End of Tomorrow is sure to be enjoyed by metal maniacs young and old as it blends the soaring vocal and guitar melodies of Iron Maiden and Helloween with the raw power of thrashers like Testament and Kreator, presented in a crisply modern production-style.
RAVAGE is:
Al Ravage - Vocals
Eli Joe - Lead and Rhythm Guitar
Nick Izzo - Lead and Rhythm Guitar
Howie 'The Mosh Pig' Snow - Bass
GTB - Drums

has Ravage gotten better? because last time i heard them, they kind of sucked, no offense. i will have to check out newer songs. last time i heard them was like... when i was 16... so 7 years ago.

It feels like only yesterday that Ravage was gigging with Acephalus & B.o.E. at the Newton Community Center while that guy Ultraboris danced around onstage with a plastic sword during their set. Oh wait that was 8 years ago, hahaha.... |
Weird, me and my guitar player were just talking about Ravage. Saying that the weirdest show I ever played/booked was with Grief, Adolf Satan, Ravage and Hekseri. |
nice. longevity sometimes does pay off. |
Wow, I think I was at that Newton Community Center show. That was a long ass time ago. |
I think it was April 2001. Acephalus, Bane of Existence, Ravage, A Cold Reality, Legacy, Plague of Emaciation, Bonescrew, Iron Will. Fun show but I remember the sound being terrible because it was in a gymnasium and the director of the community center freaking out because he thought people were going to break the no moshing rule. |
I almost shit my pants when that fruitcake started fighting a paper mache dragon with a plastic sword.
And yup I just looked at my little list. It was April 21st.
Acephalus, Ravage, Bane of Existence, Bonescrew, Plague of Emaciation, A Cold Reality, Legacy, State of Agression, Iron Will
Some old shit right there. |
shit, well deserved guys! keep kicking ass! |
I immediately txt'd someone at metalblade and said "wtf, I thought you guys were only signing metalcore and deathcore" |
wow....I've loved and supported RAVAGE for years. Remember playing some of my first shows with Incinerate opening up for them on those battle of the band gigs in Newton and Lynn. Congrats and Cheers! |
shouldn't this bee on the front news? hehe |
Wait... that Ultraboris goober is from around here? Like the Metal-Archives reviewer that seems to (but not always) base his reviews on quantity of riffs?
Well that's awesome news for Ravage, I'm really looking forward to the show on the 29th. |

Yep, same guy. I hung out with him a couple times. Quite possibly the nerdiest person I have ever met. He was like a white, metal-loving version of Steve Erkle from Family Matters. I think he lives in Cali now. He got hired by some computer graphics card company and they paid him some ridiculous amount of money to move out there and work for them. |
PA's Lounge Ravage Apr 24th! |
Congrats to Al, Eli, and Nick for finally making it... we've been playing with you guys for close to a decade now and I'll never forget those early shows together, some really awesome memories. Congrats to Howie and George as well obviously. I hope you guys have a successful partnership with Metal Blade. |
This is fucking great news! I talked about it on The Stress Factor on Thursday when I found out. Played a couple of tunes. I'm psyched to see them a week from Sunday in Everett with RazorMaze and Exmortus!!! |
i remember seeing ravage back in august 2006 at the hope alliance church where they played with despotic robot, taste f silver and others |
This is surprising although they have been at it long enough. I remember playing with them at some battle of the bands pay to play bullshit in like 2002 when i was in a different band. I wouldn't have seen it coming then, but its cool that metal blade is signing non-christian metal bands now. I hope they get something cool from it. |

I'd just like RTTP to know that I had to leave a movie theater last night to take a giggle break when randomly thinking about this comment. |
Whatever happened with this? I'm old. |
