if you're into the first two movies, don't waste your hard earned money.
it's good for an action movie. for a Terminator movie, give me a fucking break.
the crap they put in this movie left so many holes in the story. their logic is all fucked up and the only reason they threw Christian Bale into this is because he's a big name right now.
"I'll be back", "Come with me if you want to live", fucking BLEGGGHHH.
I know thinking too hard over a Terminator is pretty pathetic, but hey, I don't really give a shit.

Terminator Salvation. Infuriating.

It sucks that hollywood has gone and tarnished the classic franchise films like Terminator and Alien. Terminator's I and II had great storyline's and so much potential, which makes it unfortunate that it will never be fully realized.

Sort of. The Terminator 3D ride is what T3 should have been, minus the fact it's only what? Half an hour long?

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at May 21,2009 10:02am
Same here. I liked T3 a lot. I thought they did a pretty good job at un-80-erizing Skynet and making it distributed processing instead of a giant super computer. And it was cool seeing all the early terminator prototype robots.

I bet I'll like this new movie.

did you guys here that Bale was not originally casted as Connor but as a terminator(like Arnold) and he said " i want to play john connor" and the writers were like well, JC is not a major part and he said im john connor or I walk and they rewrote the whole script to make john connor the main character so they could have christian bale as the main role.

Dark Knight aside, I am starting to not like Bale and his damn ego

toggletoggle post by MikeOvDecrepitvde at May 21,2009 10:13am
But Bale is what almost ruined the Dark Knight entirely. His "batman voice" was downright pedophilic.

I heard that when they were considering him in the batman movies he threatened to kidnap everyone's daughters and would tattoo "I'm Christian Bale and I'm awesome" on their foreheads if they didn't give him the contract he wanted. Part of the contract involved resurrecting Hitler's corpse and taking over the world driving around in the prop car from the flintstones movie armed with only a 9mm beretta and a catapult that launched puppies.

Did you guys hear that?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at May 21,2009 10:31am
haha you know they had to edit the batman voice to make it sounds deeper? I think it was both Bale and the sound engineers that made Batman sounds like your friendly neighbor that lives next door and has blankets and jizz in the back of his van

toggletoggle post by BobNOMAAMRooney nli at May 21,2009 10:57am
I heard Christian Bale refused to play Patrick Bateman unless Bret Easton Ellis personally rewrote the script to completely fall apart after the first 45 minutes of the movie.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at May 21,2009 11:05am
the batman voice was ridiculous. it almost sunk the movie. "im not wearing hockey pants." he sounded like clint eastwood with throat aids from gargling jizz.

you know what's funny though? Christian Bale isn't even that good of an actor? And how is he a fucking action star? Dude's no where close to being as jacked as all the premier action stars: Arnold, Norris, Segal, Arnold, The Rock (sadly), Vin Diesel (sadly), Arnold, and Chan.

Yeah I'm surprised batman did as well as it did. I have a very high tolerance for bad acting and I actually NOTICED that Bale didn't do anything special. Maybe that's just the character, though. I don't know. I don't remember Michael Keaton doing anything too crazy range-wise to play Batman.

I enjoyed T3 simply because it was ridiculously over the top and that's what I look for in action movies. Anyone who expected that movie to follow the first 2 and do them justice is just as foolish as someone who expects their favorite band to continue releasing the perfect and/or the same album. That's just my viewpoint on stuff like this. I'll see the new one and most likely enjoy it for an action film, and nothing more.

just as the Joker said: "this city needs a new class of criminal" .. well, these movies need a "new class of action star" because Vin Diesel doesn't cut it, Bale doesn't cut it, and The Rock doesn't cut it.

We need another Stallone or Arnold.

Exactly why I stopped going to the movies long ago.
Exactly why I don't check out new bands and cease supporting bands I did like, who lost their aesthetic appeal.

Quite unfortunate that we can't expect consistency out of anything.

I was reading this crap all over the net untill T3 came out and all of the sudden, T2 was a perfect movie that was as vital as the first.

Just got back from seeing it, it fucking r00lz.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at May 26,2009 10:21am
A couple things before I get started....

Fire the Sky was a serious win. It will never get the recognition it deserves because A. it was a topical subject and the result of the mid 90's ufo fascination and B. no one will pay attention to a story without a love interest in it. It's probably one of the most visceral films I've seen to date.

T2 was flawless. Plot, FX, characters, action, all of it. Anyone who criticized it in 1991 is a cynical faggot who wanted Meatballs II to the be the be all end all of special effects in film.

NOW...

There are some definite holes in this film. And I'll be the first to admit that the "Blair and Marcus" (DayZ of oUr LiVzorz) love drama, albeit short lived, was awful. But I really think that after the shitstorm Hollywood saw from the T3 feedback this was their way of saying "Hey, look. You know as as well as we do that we have to fag this up a little to make it marketable, but we're at least gonna try this time."

And try, IMO, they did. I thought Bale was fucking balls as John Connor (JC... salvation... undertone anyone?). I liked him a hell of a lot better than Marcus the hunky robot, a and hell of a lot better than that TGIF looking dork they cast in T3.

The sound desgin is what really impressed me about this film. Take the giant people snatching terminators. If this wasn't a Terminator series then they just would have sounded like Wall-E shifted down a couple octaves. I loved the sound that they came up with for those things, that weird muted out of tune diesel moan.

There are a handful of things big and small that I have issues with in this movie, but I'll accept this as part of the Terminator series. As far as I'm concerned THIS is Terminator 3, and the last one never happened.

And anyone who didn't get pumped when Connor blasts You Could Be Mine to trap the moto-terminator is an asshole. Solid tribute to the greatest action film of all time.

ahhhh well put. This is a good part of why I liked this movie. This is also a big part of why the matrix movies are awesome.

well finally saw the movie. not impressed. action was great, effects were cool (especially in a digital theater) but the story seemed so sloppy. everyone either overacted or underacted to the point of absurdity. the dialague was the worst though.. pretty much went as follows:

"I'm John Connor"

"Save Kyle Reese"

"I'm John Connor"

"I'm Kyle Reese.. Come with you me if you want to live.."

Blah blah blah

"BUT I'M JOHN CONNOR!!!... and I'll be back"

oh and Christian Bale did the whole movie with his irritating Dark Knight grumble voice. I kept hoping that the Joker would pop into the scene to make it more exciting.

THE END.

finally gave in and saw this. to my surprise, it was a watchable movie to say the least.
best terminator in the series? hell no. better than terminator 3? yes.
action was great.. non-stop action throughout the whole movie.
Dialogue was pretty lame at parts, acting was pretty lame at parts too (mostly christian bale... does he play the same character in every movie) but I'll accept it was a follow-up movie.
There were many similarities between T2, especially the "come with me if you want to live" and how the movie ends in a very similar setting as T2.
Also liked how the movie was darker than 3.

A joke of a movie staring the Rock? SHOCKING! Sorry dude but every movie you star in is not an excuse to have fight scenes for you to demonstrate your awesome wrestling moves you fucking loser. DIE!

Goes back to what aril was saying about needing a decent action star these days.

Haven't seen T4 yet. T3 had some good parts but didn't have the same "dark" feel that T1 and T2 had. For example in T2 the scene where the T1000 stabs John's foster dad through the milk carton and through his head was pretty brutal. You don't see it happen but you get to see the after effects. Or where he stabs the guard through the eye and his body just twitches until he drops to the floor. T1 and T2 were far more graphic which added a lot to the "no hope/down and out" feel to the movies.

In T3 the killing was very watered down. The story was decent. I liked the idea of Skynet being a bit more modern to fit with the times, but the acting was just terrible.
