They started as a joke, right? Didn't they start making generic brocore garbage to make fun of other lame-ass hardcore bands in the area? I may have been misinformed, but seem to think this to be the case.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jul 3,2009 3:36pm
if i'm not mistaken Bloodbath was originally meant to be the same thing... or at least not to be taken seriously.

The thing I don't understand is if you're playing something as a joke, why would you try to make it sound exactly the same as the bands you're mocking rather than say, have the vocalist scream in a down's syndrome voice or have random parts where everyone in the band starts improvising.

I thought that's what the whole Tom Cruise thing was about.

Fail joke has failed.

Did Horrifying Condiments die already or what?

toggletoggle post by markrichardsmobile at Jul 3,2009 4:10pm
Horrifying Condiments is too kvlt to be a band.

And yes, BYD started as a joke (whether they knew it or not).

toggletoggle post by Lamp  at Jul 3,2009 4:19pm
Another thing too while I'm at it, it's impossible to be a "joke band" in a genre that's a joke to begin with.

toggletoggle post by reimroc at Jul 3,2009 4:35pm
I'm bringing mosh backpacks back.

toggletoggle post by markrichardsmobile at Jul 3,2009 4:37pm
Too late. I saw a very enthusiastic moshpacker doing jumping jacks and invisible motorcycle hand motions at a show in Lowell a month or so ago.

toggletoggle post by soilentgreenispizza at Jul 3,2009 4:47pm

Oh jeez, Lamp is blowing his lid. You're not allowed to call BYD hardcore because they're not "tr00".

toggletoggle post by SacreligionNLI at Jul 4,2009 1:25am
In creating this thread I think I have unleashed my desire for another Horrifying Condiments show.

toggletoggle post by Slymo nli at Jul 4,2009 1:56am
yeah i know the dudes who started that band and yes it was a joke

toggletoggle post by BobNOMAAMRooney at Jul 4,2009 2:00am edited Jul 4,2009 2:01am
This band was a sociology experiment titled: Hardcore kids' instinctive travels and the paths of breakdowns

Everyone talking shit about this band is a poser n00b and got all their hardcore off the internet, so the hilarity is some next level shit at this point.

I used to talk to jay allot when he was still in that band. i mean the name it self is an obvious rip on a "the haunted" song.

i'm not talking shit ya ding dong. ive actually never herd the band outside of a show and that was a few years ago so i don't have an opinion on them.
