New site? Maybe some day.
how are you enjoying Icewind Dale?
Where are you? you must be near the cave with the beetles by now. If not, your party fails.
I played last night, finally entered Chapter 2.
For those of you who enjoy fantasy/D&D PC Games circa 2000, check this game out. |
Baldur's Gate fan here, been meaning to check this game out since 2000 |
This isn't Dragon Age: Origins. |
ouch. nope, it's not.
That game and Mass Effect2 will consume me for a while though. |
ATTENTION: DYA. DO NOT ENGAGE IN CONVERSATION WITH ARIL. ENCRYPTED IN HIS WORDS IS A CODE WHICH TRIGGERS MIND CONTROL AND SUBJUGATION. ARIL IS A MASTER OF PSYCHOLOGICAL TROLLING WARFARE. |
Yea, so what? You blew my cover as a disinformation agent, now what? |
NOW WE HIRE YOU BACK AS OUR MINISTER OF PROPAGANDA OR WE PATCH YOU. |
THE APOSTROPHE IS USED AS CAMOFLAGE TO CONCEAL MY IDENTITY FROM ARIL. IT IS DIGITAL STEALTH. |
Sounds like someone needs to take the trolling 101 class again. |
the name "Icewind Dale" reminds me of these 2 fruitcakes at the Enslaved show who would not stop yelling "ICE DALE" over and over and over. |
So how 'bout that Icewind Dale? |
DYA's trolls are obvious because he's a master of the English language. Unless his trolling capabilities have evolved beyond mere correct grammar... |

I kept yelling Lindisfarne like a fruitcake. Needless to say they did not play it. |
I've actually called DYA out on a grammar fudge. Very rare fudge, at that. |
I'm waiting for the return of George Zimmer. |
Here we go again...
Martins, stop getting happy behind the keyboard. |
It's not me this time. It was mildy funny the first time a few weeks ago or whenever it was. I know when to hang it up. |
Just got my full party alive and kicking again (lost 3 members in the goblin pass), almost cleared out the first cave in the Vale of Shadows. Average party level around 3. |
Icewind Dale is just like Baldur's Gate except there's no story and it's all fighting. Not necessarily a bad thing. |
One of the guys I game with describes IWD as "Baldur's Gate, the Brandon Taylor campaign." Brandon Taylor being the super over-the-top killer GM in our circle. It's pretty hardcore.
