STARRING JANET LEIGH prepares to hit the road with France s HYPNO5E on Metal As Art Tour
Canada s Starring Janet Leigh have just announced they will be co-headlining the 2nd month of the Metal As Art Tour with the French experi-metalists group HYPNO5E. Special guests of the tour include melodic metal monsters Fallen Martyr, who hail from Maryland.

Guitarist Matthew Zadkovich of Starring Janet Leigh comments; SJL is thrilled to be a part of the Metal as Art Tour. This will be our furthest run into the US, & with such a high caliber of bands on this tour, we can't wait to hit the road & bring on the brutality. Our boys in Woe of Tyrants will also be appearing on handful of dates, so get stoked!"

The Metal As Art Tour presented by TonesOfDeath.com has a whole host of sponsors including Ultimate-Guitar, MetalSucks.net, SMNnews, Metal Injection, Killer Tours, Metal Review, The Ripple Effect, Roxwel, and Ed Stone Rockwear who will be giving away two free exclusive Metal As Art t-shirts at each show.

Check out what people have been saying about STARRING JANET LEIGH s latest release Spectrum:

Like Norman Bates with his kitchen knife, these five Canadians slice their way through several musical boundaries, including death metal, hardcore, jazz, progressive, and fusion, with unfettered vengeance and vehemence…delivered with surgical precision. Outburn magazine

…an incredible nine-song set of genre-bending adventure that places them firmly in a class that includes Candiria, Between the Buried and Me, and Mr. Bungle before them. Fangoria.com

…well-formed and brutally nice…the chugging section that leads into the clear cloud break is perfect; you can imagine a pit devouring it live, even the brief Mr Bungle passage works. The vocals too are excellent, while the drums, as usual with these guys, are spit-fire. Blistering.com

…there s a tantalizing 70s progressive rock element that keeps creeping into their music, as if Frank Zappa and Robert Fripp are trying to bust into a jam between Psyopus and Every Time I Die. Hellbound.ca

Spectrum is a mind-warping debut album that will impress some and leave others clueless…Chaotic and unpredictable…Like The Dillinger Escape Plan on speed, or a technical death metal band gone haywire, STARRING JANET LEIGH is the sound of five guys completely out of control and enjoying every minute of the ride. Spectrum is a wild debut album, one that isn't content to stick to a formulaic design. About.com

Hyperactive technicality, schizophrenic speed, and a whole lot of extreme make up Canada s STARRING JANET LEIGH and their latest album, Spectrum. You better chug a few Monster Energy Drinks before you listen to this one, because Spectrum is one hell of a thrill ride from start to finish. Seeing the current brutality coming out of Canada, STARRING JANET LEIGH fits in perfectly with the likes of Beneath The Massacre, Ion Dissonance, and Despised Icon… 8/10 SMNnews.com

The music is not just simply a strict dichotomy of jazz and technical death metal. The jazz influences the metal, and the metal influences the jazz. Instead of the standard wall of sound and constant crushing guitars and drums, the death metal features complex rhythmic and melodic themes constantly intertwining and changing. Each instrument can be heard weaving in and out of the others, and the moments when they all come together are pure bliss. MetalUnderground.com

Spectrum is unbelievably heavy, extraordinarily fast, and incredibly pissed off. Fans of the Death Metal genre will truly dig this album; it is one of the better ones that I have heard in this genre this year if for no other reason than at least STARRING JANET LEIGH have thought outside the box by adding a bit of unexpected variety. 8/10 PureGrainAudio.com

Starring Janet Leigh is:
Matt Zadkovich - Guitar
Aaron Pozzer - Drums
Matt Nimmo - Vocals
Chris Sokoloski - Guitar
Justin Brown - Bass

i'm pissed that casting by central casting got passed over for this. opening credits by saul bass would've also been a suitable opener for the tour.
