Best time of the year. Here's a text I just got:
"sigh..i got jewed on my tax return. since im in a higher tax bracket now, im actually getting less than last year. wtf...thank u zionist jews!"

how much you getting back, and what you doing with it?
Also turbo tax ftw. I did it in 30 minutes last night.

FYI. Some tips.....

If you bought a new car from 2009 - 2010 you can use the Sales tax you paid toward your deductions.

Claim all chairitable donations over $250.

In MASS... you can claim the rent you pay for your residence.

Any Roth IRA contributions will set you up for a bigger refund.

School loan payments are also deductible.

If you live in Mass, make sure you have your Health Insurance info handy. You will need it to complete it.

I'm going to H&R Block to do it for me. I have rttp/condo/contract engineering on top of everything else so I have them do it for me. It ends up costing me $350 for them to do it, but if anything is wrong, they deal with the IRS and cover everything.
I should get back like $200-$1200 from mass and idk from the feds. Depends on my depreciated loses on RTTP.

prob put it towards paying down my credit card. gotta pay for my newly purchased catalytic converter. or i'll just by a brick of weed. we'll see what happens

toggletoggle post by Slag rag at Feb 1,2010 11:06am
Also, for the youngsters, the more you defer to your 401k, the less your taxable income, the lower your tax bracket = the less the goverment takes from you.

This works to your favor, as generally, in retirement, you are at a lower tax bracket than when you were working... = the less taxes on your money overall lifetime = the less the government takes from you lifetime

H&R block is a waste, rev. Do it for free online or just get turbo tax for 40 bucks

toggletoggle post by Hungtableed at Feb 1,2010 11:55am
Between me and the old lady, we're getting back like $12,000+ . We're gonna pay some debt and hopefully take a trip to hop around Europe. First stop, of coarse, would be Amsterdam...tax season is gonna be nice to us this year.

i told him that...he doesn't lsiten to me..maybe he'll listen to you

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2010 12:26pm
nope, if I do it myself, I have to figure out all the crap that I've done over the past 4 years for RTTP. And then I don't get someone to deal with the IRS for me. no thanks.

toggletoggle post by AndrewBastard at Feb 1,2010 12:26pm
I tried to do mine the other day but I couldn't find the fed id # on my health insurance card...

also i didnt know I could get $$ for my 2009 car or for my apt rent. How do i do this?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Feb 1,2010 12:29pm
Tellin you. Turbo tax walks you through everything and tells you what it is. It also transfers all previous data from the year before.

toggletoggle post by MarkFuckingRichards  at Feb 1,2010 12:31pm
Just did mine this weekend on TurboTax; $1805 back for federal and $262 back for state. If I didn't have so much money getting taken out for my retirement plan and didn't work in the transportation industry, those numbers would surely be more depressing. It's going to be hard figuring out how I'm going to ration it all between savings, credit card debt, my next tattoo appointment(s) and other fun shit. Fuck being a responsible adult.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Feb 1,2010 12:33pm
Most of mines going into the bank for the kids college fund.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 1,2010 12:37pm
didn't file last year, not filing this year. i'm well aware of the ramifications, but i don't care.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Feb 1,2010 12:40pm
I can't wait to flick on the news one day to see a bunch of cop cars surronding a cave, and a giant yeti being taken away in cuffs for not paying taxes.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 1,2010 12:41pm
hahahaha if only it were that exciting. they are going to get it one way or the other, but i'm going to make things annoying and difficult for them.

Tax Cut for me. Just awaiting my W2 from my part time job to see if I get kicked up into a new tax bracket or not.

Either way, my return goes to billz.

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at Feb 1,2010 12:43pm
didnt have a single legit job on the books all of 2009 so im not going to file.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2010 12:44pm
my return goes to pay my car insurance for the year, fill my bank account reserves after a xmas.

toggletoggle post by metal_church101  at Feb 1,2010 12:49pm

Get someone to refer to an accountant that is trustworthy. I used H+R Block for a long time and didn't understand why they kept charging me more every year. Block also has ties to scumbag credit agencies that I don't want to support. My accountant saves me money and it is nice to have a scapegoat if a mistake is made.

I had to buy a new furnace for house, so I'll get some Obama money back for that this year. Other than that, we'll get the shaft as usual.

Start with non-jewish last names and work backwards from there. In all seriousness, it has to be a referral.

Gotcha. Avoid -steins, -bergs, and -mans.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2010 2:02pm
yeah, avoid the jews if you want some inbreed hick to do your taxes. Run to the heebs.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Feb 1,2010 2:10pm
So any accountant that's not Jewish is automatically hick? I guess that's true.. We're all inferior to Gods chosen race.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Feb 1,2010 2:12pm

The hippy just assumes that anyone I deal with is a tobacco-chawin', ball-scratchin', WWE-followin', NASCAR-lovin' retard.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Feb 1,2010 2:29pm
what's wrong with that stuff?

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Feb 1,2010 2:55pm
Hey, I'm a big proponent of ball-scratchin'. Gets itchy down thar.
