ive been fighting with my phone all night trying to get it up to post, but i cant seem to get it up. this show shreds so far. no moshing, but more than well attended by a lot of people i have never seen before.
Hexen went on and it was exactly the band I thoughht it was. They ruled and the CD is an awesome CD. Anyone who didn't buy that CD is dumb. The CD is even better than they were live. Also, testament cover with no one moshing? For shame. During their set, the singer said 'thank you for being you' and someone from the audience yelled back "I am not me!"
Rattlehead. Was good too. I didn't know them but I enjoyed it.
The first thing I noticed about mantic ritual was the new drummer. They still did well with the fill in. I think most people here were taken by surprise because mantic ritual set up so fast.
Awesome show!!... not so awesome night after. I was going to eat at the Kenmore with some of the touring bands, but the Kenmore was closed. We went to Denny's, but they didn't want to wait forever. I went to the McDonald's down the street, and some guy backed right into my car in the drive-thru and dented my bumper. 3 guys got out of the car and wanted me to pull over to a dark, sketchy part of the parking lot. I refused, told him to give me his insurance info right there, and he totally flipped out, swearing in Spanish, throwing stuff at my car, and acting like he wanted to fight me. They drove away after I called the cops. He was dumb enough to write his full name on the back of a Scaphism flyer, and I got his license plate number. Apparently, he was driving with a revoked license... sucks to be him.
Thanks to whoever left that flyer on my car. Otherwise, I wouldn't have had anything for that scumbag to write on.

glad we could help haha. Tom left it there.
Hexen was amazing, one of the best performances i've ever seen at a Metal Thursday. too bad they opened, they would have killed it in a headlining spot. They were so unbelievably tight, everything was crystal clear. too bad they live in California, i'd love to see them again soon.

What happened to there drummer?
The original drummer and the original vocalist/guitarist were the best members...and now they're BOTH gone. :'(

That was Rattlehead. I missed Hexen, I'm pretty sure. And that was me that yelled that (Gee, don't know how you didn't piece that together.)
you dance around like a ballerina while dan plops around like frankenstein. you are like ying and yang.
Of all the things to compare me to, a ballerina would be the absolute last thing that would ever cross my mind. But thanks. That statement will supply me with major lulz every time I get in the pit with Dan from now on!
So much alcohol consumed at this show.. Rattlehead and Hexen crashed on my floor afterwards, good dudes.. had the most unsatisfying mcdonalds breakfast menu meal ever at 4am after a failed attempt at the kenmore.
I think your band played on 2 pretty slow nights, once in 2006 and once in early 2008, but yeah, things have gotten consistently better. Although there were shows that far back that did just fine too.
that's true.
the crowd has definitely gone through some changes over the years, but there's a core group of people who have been there since the beginning to keep it thriving. its been cool watching it grow.
I wish I've been to more, but it's definitely grown since the 1st one Ive went to. Nice venue, always a pleasure attending. My only complaint that I live a ways from woostah =(
