this DEFINITELY starting at 9? kintaan is cool, but if i miss a precious note of christian mistress, i'm pulling a fire alarm, calling the bomb squad, shitting on the floor and flipping cars.
Whoever decided to start this at 10 should be tarred and feathered, mocked then sterilized.
Kintaan was a pleasant surprise. I don't recall caring for what material I had heard beforehand but their set had an awesome uneasy John Carpenter-esque shit's-gettin-evil-in-outer-space vibe to it. Kinda like Zombi before they went all Miami Vice and disappeared into the slatted mirror on us.
Christian Mistress: Just WOW. I did a status update bout it...
Christian Mistress positively KILLED it tonight! Riffs. Vibe. Soul. And BLESS MY FUCK, those twin guitar harmonies! All delivered in the olde fashion... burly and true. Hope to be seeing and hearing a lot more from them. Reuben and Christine are as cool as they come and Nightbitch NEEDS to make heavymetal highwayfire with them.
The Body: Maybe I'm just getting old, but this whole "no, we're the loudest band in the hemisphere" wattage-pissing contest just isn't cute anymore. You're not fucking Motorhead and I'm not impressed. Having had my appendix removed four days prior, it was literally painful to be in the same room while they played. (I'm sure the guys in the band could enjoy a stroke over this unintended compliment. I would.) I could invoke the ol' "maybe if I was stoned..." axiom but I was off my tits on Oxycodone. And this bums me out because I really like The Body's records and was looking forward to finally seeing them.

Shows in Providence pretty much always start at 10 or whatever late time... it sucks, but don't count on change
Sweeeeeeet. So glad you recorded the sets! I saw the mic set up at O'Briens and knew there was recording going on but it's awesome that you are sharing them... Will check it out tonight.
Also, Kintaan was much better than any time I've seen them before. Killed it. Looking forward to next time.
Obstacle, it would bring me great pleasure to have you play a show with my bassist in Nightbitch's other band, De Omega. I'll wrangle a link for you soon. As I am a man of pleasure, I would be willing to facilitate this. Likely at Cherry St in Wallingford, CT. Many, many drinks and gas money are assured.
The whole time you were playing, my friend and I kept remarking how it is imperative that you play some shows together. While you don't sound alike, your styles would compliment each other very well. Now I'd just have to find other bands worthy of sharing a stage with the two of you.
Always down for some shows, man!.. we might be laying kind of low due to eric's new school schedule ontop of everyone's work schedule.. feel free to keep in touch though!
