I spent a year in India. I met people from Shillon, Meghalaya who said it is the "metal" city, and that everyone listens to death metal there. Even cabbies blast metal in the cabs no matter what age person gets in. Apparently Sepultura toured there one year

India represents the social extreme of having a major unequal distribution of wealth. There are so many people in India, and only a small handful have successful jobs and live in the middle (or rich) class.
Sadly, the majority of people that live down there that don't live in the major cities are dirt poor.
There are plenty of places in the world that have extremes like this... us Americans take everything for granted.
Lest we all forget, India has been home to many thriving cultures throughout the history of mankind. Hinduism is extremely old in every regard, and is quite fascinating at that. Anyone that thinks India is 100% pure shit is simply wrong. There are so many languages and dialects in India, and each section of the country is unique in its own regard.
Read the fucking Vedas and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I don't about them dirty saxons but the good old celts spawned out of the danube river when an acorn fell into it. I do still hold a like for north Indian cultures though, the south not so much.
