New site? Maybe some day.

your dogs look fucking identical... same litter? |
Yup, they are litter mates, both male. Which makes when they hump each other wrong on multiple levels... |
Don't just stare at it, eat it. |

It was consumed with ferocity. |

I wold stab those tomatoes in the face and munch them. |

I suppose if you wrapped them in bacon... |

Makes me wish that I lived in a place where I could hunt! Or alternatively, I wish I could train my cat to help me hunt pigeons and squirrels in the city. |

This is a real show on the bbc in australia, they go through the whole process from when the animal is killed like they did hear. I loved the show and then the audience would eat the dead animals. From the time they either stunned or sliced the animals to the abattoir and then the oven and to the dinner plate. Great show. It must be on you tube. I approve of this link!! :2Horns: |

FAIL TROLL THINKS DOGS LOOK BETTER TO EAT THAN REST OF THAT SHIT
DOGS ARE VERY TASTY BUT AMERICANS ARE FAIL AND DO NOT UNDERSTAND THIS
Good show idea. I think that if you are a meat-eater, you should be willing to kill anything you're willing to eat. If not, go vegetarian. Personally, I'll kill just about anything that is edible. |
I KILL DOGS PLENTY THEN ALWAYS EAT
GOOD EATS DOG IS EPIC FOOD
EPIC TROLL ALWAYS EAT WHAT IT KILL
EVEN FAIL TROLL EAT WHAT IT KILL

Bow hunting or false. Save bullets for people. |

Uh, they're shotgun shells, not bullets. I thought you were from VT, you are talking like a flatlander. |

Rifled Slug or GTFO.

I have a slug barrel for my Mossberg 835, but there wouldn't be much bird left if you hit it with a slug. If I bother to deer hunt this year, I'll probably try to take one with my .44 mag handgun. |

Last Sunday's limit of pheasant and woodcock:
The birds are all vacuum-sealed and frozen, will post more delicious game concoction when I prepare them. |
I woke up to the sound of gun fire |
Yeah, duck/goose opened earlier this week. I'm sure the guys are out on the river this morning, especially after 2 mornings of frost. That will definitely get the migrating birds moving good.
NH coastal waterfowling is waaaaay better than central NH waterfowling. We just don't have enough migrating birds stopping in this neck of the woods. |
this flatlander longs for a day where he can hunt with dogs. |
I know plenty of guys in MA that run dogs, just requires commitment and it helps to work with a pro in the beginning -- do it up! |
And you guys have much better duck/goose hunting down there. I just got a picture from my buddy in RI, him and a group of guys got 19 mallards this morning. |
i hope i can go hunting someday. sounds like a lot of fun. |
fully support this... wouldnt hunt it myself but way better than buying from disgusting animal farming |
Yesterday's hunt, 1 grouse (sorry, "pahtridge") and 3 woodcock (limit):
I was by myself, some deer hunters took the picture for me. Sorry, this one does have my ugly mug. Ticks were HORRIBLE, never seen anything like it. Must have picked 25 to 30 ticks off of each dog, then had to give them a bath.
Freezer is getting stocked -- will have to make a feast soon... |
OK, here we go with another delicious installment: Woodcock Poppers.
1. Thaw frozen breasts and soak in milk for 4 to 5 hours. Woodcock are strong-tasting, the milk helps with that and removes some blood.
2. Remove from milk and place in marinade -- red wine, worcestershire, minced garlic, salt and white pepper. Marinate overnight.
3. Pound breasts flat and place on a strip of bacon.
4. Spread cream cheese on breast and place a slice of jalapeno on that. Roll them up in the bacon and secure with toothpick -- looks like this when they're prepped:
5. Either broil or grill. I opted for grilling, but had to switch to indirect heat due to flare-ups (would help if I gave the grill a good cleaning, but fuck that)
6. Remove when bacon is just about crisped and skarf mightily.
These things were delicious. I would actually cook them a little less next time, but it didn't matter, they were still awesome.
Pro-tip: consume balance of wine not used in marinade. |
take me hunting with your dogs. never hunted woodcock, but used to hunt partridge every fall. |
Shoot me an email: andy dot westcott at gmail dot com
Woodcock is closed for the season, but partridge runs through end of year -- we'd need to go above the notch for better partridge hunting though. |

this will make your Woodcock Pop.

RTTP hunter/gatherer dinner sometime in the late spring/early summer? |
I'll need to do some more killing first. |

I'm from the white mountains. used to walk lots of tall grass and orchards in the fall. never had a bird dog, though. |
The dogs definitely make things easier, plus it's just fun watching them work. Especially for retrieves, they'll just about always come up with a dead or crippled bird, where we would be looking for them for an hour. |
From a recent hunt for eiders in RI:
Eiders eat mainly mussels and taste like shit, so I breasted them out and grilled them up for the dogs. Hell, they earned the birds, they might as well enjoy them. The stinky breasts disappeared in record time to say the least. |
Latest installment, grilled landlocked salmon. "Fillet & Release" method practiced here.

hilarious. I heard about fishing season being open in NH/ME and thought of you on the way into work. |
It was chilly. We were the first ones to the Sunapee boat launch at 5:30am yesterday and it was 25 degrees. Hence my marshmallow man attire. |
good you let these babies go. I think the biggest fresh water bass I ever caught was about 6 lbs. though where I fished the inability of little kids to safely remove hooks from mouths/gills dropped the average size of the fish we caught to under a pound. |
I don't keep freshwater bass, they're more fun to fight than to eat.I think my biggest largemouth was about 7+. I didn't have a scale, but I did have witnesses before I released it. |
actually, I dont think you can hunt with a gun like that in NPT...maybe thats the Mt Hope Bridge? |
We were in Jamestown, just on the edge of the harbor. That is indeed the Newport bridge in the grim, foggy background. |
I have a hand me down Remington 1100 thats in immaculate condition, I usually just shoot trap with it but want to try hunting. Also I really would like to go rabbit hunting with my .22 |
Take the hunter safety course and you'll be good to go. 1100 is a solid shotgun. I have a buddy that runs beagles for rabbits, it's a fun hunt. |

It's just a shotgun, not a rifle. |
I usually fish catch & release for bass, but this one got throat-hooked and was doing the float of death:
Not being the wasteful sort, he went into the "deathwell" and was my dinner Monday night. Fillet, dredge in flour/cornstarch, dip in egg, dredge in flour/cornstarch again, pan fry, and fish sammiches for dinner:
Friggin' tasty if I do say so myself. Until the next installment, tight lines, foghats... |
Since the board sucks now, I figure it's time to post some more pictures of dead shit and outdoors stuff.
Opening day (Oct 1st) afternoon solo mission -- 2 pheasant, 2 woodcock in 2 hours.
Nothing died this trip, just a boat ride on the CT River to scout for ducks.
Yesterday, solo mission just above the Notch. Shot these 2 partridge as a report double (1 flushed, I shot him, the other flushed on the shot, I shot him too). Also walked about 5 miles and the only signs of life was 1 dude walking into a cut.
The cooking/eating will be coming soon. I have buddies coming up to help me with yardwork this weekend and my freezer is full of BRIDS that need to be eaten. |
kill your dogs and eat them because dogs suck. |
