RIP I got my 160gb classic in '09. I hope it lasts as long as yours.

refurbed ipod 160GB = $160...
new hard drive for this is $60 + tools.
hm..

toggletoggle post by demondave at Dec 20,2011 9:59pm

have you tried popping it open and tapping the hard drive while restarting? The arm might just be stuck. My ipod was diagnosed as dead by the apple store, and I kept it alive for like a year and a half by doing that.

of course if you are just looking for an excuse to get a solid state ipod.....

funniest thing about this is that I though "you think it is ok to listen to your own radio show at the gym? sure" so I was listening to 2011-04-18

I believe it was during demolition hammer.

6th gen iPods and beyond are next to impossible to open up. At some point Apple figured out that they actually built an easily fixable-upgradeable product and put an end to it right away.

this is just a prelude to an elliptical tragedy on youtube

Mine just died too. Bought a Sansa Fuze+ and a 32GB microSDHC for 48GB total for about $130 total. The Fuze+ has a really good headphone amp. Much better than the iPod's could ever be. Look into it SON

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 5,2012 3:12pm
I bought a 16GB nano today for $138. The good thing is that all my music is in itunes already so that I can just update one location.

Totally agree with Martins. rev's gotta keep his street cred though, it's all about looks these days

This ipod nano is killing me. Every 5th song the volume either goes way up to ear splitting and then the next track goes down to a whisper...
