The two best bakeries in the North End. Everything is incredible. If you guys have never been you are MISSING OUT and FAILING at the same time.

Also, Bova's Sandwich shop next door, lulz.

which one is better?

haven't been to Modern Bakery, but Mike's is always a good place to bring a lady after dinner.

I've taken pics of Bova's before, will post later. I'm in medford and have a Modern PASTRY (not bakery, aril) in walking distance. Never bothered with Mike's because it's too trendy.

Mikes is really good but the lines can get ridiculous. Not that arguing with over anxious fatsos isn't fun. Fratellis in Quincy is where it's at for south shore cannoli fixes.

fratellis is excellent. They used to have this bread with meat and cheese baked right into it. LOVE
