vancouver is pretty much an american province |
Canada is pretty much an American province... eh? |
they keep trying to get in and we keep pushing them back. |
which explains why some bands couldn't cross the border
speaking of pushing "back"
.. |
you trying to convince me into buttsex?
but jon stewart said it made god angry... |
That can't be Canada, North America has never had that WRX. Actually, I remember seeing that pic awhile back, I think that's in England or Scotland. |
actually i believe we had a WRX... just not the WRX STI... The WRX he had just didnt have the japanese spec 276 HP turbo... i think it was a 220 HP turbo 6 cyl with like 3 psi of boost. |
I had a friend that had a WRX...
he hopped a curb in portsmouth and cut it in half on a gaurd rail...
needless to say, he was drunk |
HAHA! see... my car knowledge is supreme! |
We've never had the WRX here in the US. What you are thinking about is the SVX, that queer car with the cigarette windows and the much-too-heavy chassis. The WRX was released here in 2002 and has since become (imho) the pinnacle of bang for your buck performance.
Actually, I'm currently in discussions with some other Subaru buffs to swap my 2.5 h4 with either a 2.7 h4 or a used 3.0 h6. |
OHH, yeah, we've never had THAT particular WRX. That's the old body style of WRX in the picture. We've never had that one-- that's what I was saying. The first WRX to come to our shores was the bug-eyed, early model Neon look-alike with a more 'modern' backend. |
i was drunk last night... i said a 6cyl when they have 4 cyl... and the 220 HP figure i got was from the turbo GT model that also wasnt sold in the US... we had the 2.5RS which isnt nearly as fast as a jap WRX STi... its actually 110 HP lower than the jap car. but yes, I would love to get my hands on a new WRX STi or a Lancer EVO (which a lot of magazines said to be better than the WRX STi). and thery are very cheap considering how much performance you get (handling AND acceleration).
although i HAVE seen a couple WRX's in the body style in the picture over here, but they were imported. much like the Skylines i have seen over here. |
my friends was the neon-looking one.
under the hood though, $20K worth of crap.
I had another friend that had the something rx that was the hatch back rally car. it was pretty awesome. it had the best acceleration of any car I've ever been in. |
if i had 5k, my wagon would be able to tool a WRX |
My buddy's got a WRX that puts 340hp to the wheels. He's got a bunch of WRX tuners that have serious hp, all with their stock tranny.
Its going to cost me about $5k-8k to do my engine swap, but after its all said and done, I'll be looking at about 290 to 310 hp to the wheels. I've actually got the '00 rs (the body style in the picture) and am going to make it serious sleeper.
Yeah, I've seen those Skyline imports. I've heard of car tuners importing all the parts separately and putting it together here. That's some hard work, I figure. I wouldn't want to do it. |
340 to the wheels is like the perfect amount of power. i seriously dont think i would want anything more than that in a street car. unless of course its in a wagon that weighs like almost a ton more than a WRX... =) |
LOL! You mean like one of those big ass station wagons? At the Nopi Nationals a bunch of years ago down at ATCO raceway in Jersey, there was this stupid-ass Nissan minivan that had some sorta engine swap and two huge NOS bottles. Thing did a 1/4 mile in 13 seconds. It was stupid... and sick.
I agree. All I want is to break the 300 hp barrier and I'm happy... all the while having a car that doesn't outwardly look like it could eat a 5.0 for breakfast... and of course, having the all-wheel drive doesn't hurt, either. |
i do indeed mean a big ass station wagon. i am currently driving a 91 chevy caprice wagon... but soon i think i will be looking for a newer buick roadmaster/chevy caprice wagon with a 350 in it. thats already good for 240 horses (at the flywheel, not the wheels) and adding headers and a thicker exhaust with some flowmasters would probably boost that number to something like 270... k&n filter will give me a little more, thats like almost 280 horsepower or something like that... all i really care about is sounding like a bad ass V8, i dont think i will have any need for a fast fast car and with having a wagon, i will have some power AND the abilty to carry more than an Excursion. =) |
