Which one do you like more?

(it was suggested that there be more posts for discussion and debate. polls are fun, so here you go!)

Wren, don't settle for mediocrity.

I chose two bands that usually have divided opinions, wouldn't say I particularly love or hate these bands myself

that said, one of my early fav shows was Watain at the Middle East

well, marduk

Watain's second album is on par with classic Swedish Black Metal as far as I'm concerned, and their shows are cool. However, Marduk are excellent. There's really no reason to give them shit outside of the fact that they haven't recorded a monumental album since the mid 90's. Their music and shows are still pretty damn good.

Watain have been slowly & steadily heading toward a more mainstream sound.
Marduk are keeping it filthy

I go for Marduk. Watain might be more adept, but their move towards mainstream is kind of killing it a bit. I've always liked Marduk, but my favorite incarnation is the lineup with Mortuus on vocals. His weird pseudo religious medieval lyrics adds to what they've got going.

Watain is terrible, Marduk is not. Marduk does have some mediocre albums, pretty much everything with Legion, but when they are on, they are fucking on.

No Marduck option, will not support.

Marduk vs. Mayhem would have made more sense, two big Black M's

I went from a fan of Watain to pretty much disliking them as individuals mostly. Went from hating long ago to liking them. Go figure.
