Assuming this is cheap enough, and that Godflesh isn't/doesn't sell out before I get tickets, i'm thinking I may go to this just for Danzig/Doyle and then take the commuter rail into Boston the next day for Godflesh. Solid weekend will be solid.

that's a maybe.

I would like to see A Pale Horse Named Death, but otherwise that is a shit lineup.

Super psyched

toggletoggle post by lol at Aug 21,2013 12:24pm
Last time I saw Danzig (about 5 yrs ago) it was awful. Super heavy versions of old songs with double kicks added in, I assume to fit in with the younger metalcore garbage bands that were opening. Imagine 'Mother' with double bass... stupid. It sounded like a death metal band covering Danzig songs with Danzig singing. Then Doyle came out for an appearance and it was fucking laughable

toggletoggle post by skeptark at Aug 21,2013 12:29pm
ok well yeah, the best parts of those albums was the drum groove, i'm all set with seeing doublebasszig, no thanks.

was Johnny Kelly drumming? he isn't a "double bass" type on most of the recordings I've heard.

sadly it was Chuck Biscuits

I saw live videos of Danzig and Doyle from earlier this summer, they weren't that bad. Danzig's vocals aren't the best, obvi, but besides that...

Regardless, Danzig is one of those artists I need to see at least once.

I can wait to fuck Spence's mouth while Doyle plays "Skulls"

I can't wait for Spence not to go to this.

toggletoggle post by HookedonMetal at Aug 22,2013 12:51am
Or scenario #2.... He goes and tries to get people to play duck duck goose with him like he did at that Death Angel show. Right, Spencer?

toggletoggle post by Spence at Aug 22,2013 12:54am
Well you know, Otep IS opening.

Maybe if i'm lucky, I can get her to flip her shit which apparently she's known to do.

toggletoggle post by Spence at Aug 22,2013 12:55am
...except not really, if I do go to this, i'm going to find out the schedule beforehand and not go into the building any earlier than I have to.

toggletoggle post by Goatrider  at Aug 23,2013 12:25am
Looking forward to this. Hopefully some more songs from How The Gods Kill are added, but the setlist is pretty damn good already. Misfits stuff should be fun.

Also,

Only in the regards to the Danzig/Doyle thing, seen Danzig plenty of times, heard him live plenty of times, interested in seeing him in Doyle play some Misfits songs, would see this.

Pale Horse Named Death honorable mention, would see them to.

I got something to do until 2pm, but then I'm driving down. Will probably shoot at the convention in between bands. I know that danzig won't let people photo him so early night for me!

Wish I was able to be there to provide some extra pump, lil' shaver. Looks like I'm gonna have to round your mouth to "She Rides" another time; and in more intimate quarters.

Broke and missed it, though currently stoned & drunk on whiskey, listening to music thinking about the women that are there............

Great show was great. Danzig was crazy amounts of fun, Misfits fans are nuts. In a good way.

And while Danzig's vocals have been hit or miss in the live videos i've seen, I felt like he sounded great all night. Plus, he seemed to be having a good time, he was even bantering about how the Red Sox are going to the world series, about how amused he was that the girls from Butcher Babies were crowdsurfing during his set(i'm surprised he even knew who they are) and he wished some kid in the front row a happy birthday. Great show, would see Danzig again.

toggletoggle post by Spence at Oct 20,2013 2:21am
Other than Danzig, the only bands I really saw were Stolen Babies and A Pale Horse Named Death, both vastly disappointed me live compared to what i've heard of the studio work of both bands. And some shit bands.

Spent most of my time at the convention.

Can't wait til Danzig comes back so we can get extra crazy, lil' buddy.
