I'm looking to get an electric bike as a second vehicle.

looking at the RAD ones:

Those look more like mountain/trail bikes. I'm looking for something to go around town and between towns in the warmer weather. Originally, I was looking at this
https://super73.com/

but the rad looks better. My car is dead right now and I don't have a secondary vehicle. I really only "need" to get to WUNH on Monday nights. I can work from home other days if I'm without a car. I think I could get from Portsmouth to Durham on the bike paths with an ebike. Plus, during the summer when the traffic is insane, I can just take the bike,

yeah idk i see people ripping sondors all over town and on the bike path. i guess they like them because they're capable in all weather conditions with the wide/knobby tires. my cousin has one and i've ridden around on it a lot and it's pretty fun. i'm not an expert by any means.

does it have lights? how does it fee in the road?

i actually love the way it felt on the road. the fat bike aspect of it and the front suspension made handling small potholes/frost heaves or whatever that are unavoidable in the bike lane fairly comfortable. if you buy that RAD one, i think the ride would be markedly more stiff in spots where the road has defects by comparison. i've also test ridden a sondors original from the local shop on the bike path and that felt good too despite not having suspension, but i didn't take it on the actual roadway- just the bike path so i can't say.

his didn't come with stock lighting afaik but he added some bright ass aftermarket LED lighting for the front and on the rear he put on something like This but I assume he bought a much nicer one than a $15 one.

front suspension really isn't a necessity - mainly comfort-based. i think you'd be fine with the RAD you linked if it's everything the site says it is. I just know nothing about them.

I hate the suspension on my mountain bike. My road bike doesn't have any.

Yeah having suspension on a road bike wouldn't make sense. Not aero.

well... they started to make bikes with frames that flex. I got one of the "last" good steel frames.
https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/value-guide/product/36075/

mine was the "Greg Lemond Nevada City Reynolds 853 Steel" which is a steel frame and doesn't flex like the aluminum or carbonfiber ones.

Nice, I have a couple older steels- A really old Schwinn I converted into a fixed gear and a Fuji. My primary road bike is aluminum rn and I don't love it so I joined the wait list last year to get a custom bike built from Pioneer Valley Frameworks

I don't ride enough anymore... from like 12 to 18, I road 25 miles a day all season. Went to canada twice on a bike. Then picked it up again in 2001-2003, but got sick of my taint getting rubbed raw from 17+ miles.
