another amazing mass live events show and a new venue. I really hope that the club loved this show and will do more. The sound in Harper's Ferry is awesome. I was thinking tongiht that I've never been to a show of theirs that didn't do really well. I'd say that 80% of the MLE shows I got to are sold out (or more than).

To all the people in the front. I (while crawling around) might have accidentally kicked people. if I kicked you, I'm sorry. I try to be very careful... but it was tight in there and I make mistakes too.

doom riders: featuring jebb (the disapearer) and the bassplayer, nate , from connverge (the other guitarist might have been in cast iron hike, but I'm not sure). this is sort of along the same lines as the disapearer, but with dual vocals. It was doomy, but with old-rock guitar riffs. pretty awesome to hear and a bit easy on the ears. Sort of like CWAF if they added more "kiss" guitar and a second guitarist. Liz is trying to get them to play boston's dead. I really hope they do cause it was good stuff.

nine: another on of the deathwish band that is more metal. They are swedish, I believe. their live set was good, especially since the CD didn't over-all win me with any specific track. I'd say the crowd didn't get into it as much as they could have. they sort of remind me of held under live. I think the best thing about their set was the guitarist's carcass shirt was awesome.

turmoil: the last time they played anywhere even near boston was NEMHF 99 or 00 (I forget which). I was so disheartened when I heard they were doing a reunion show at some place far away.. but I'm glad they toured to boston. they were awesome. so much better than I thought they were going to be. I'm Though I thought the singer was going to be in the crowd more. there was a high number of people that said they were there just to see turmoil. the singer's mix chord kept coming undone... which sucked. they played a new track and it was awesome. Reminded me of breather resist (or that is the other way around).

converge: hm... I don't really know where to begin. I've been so excited about this show for so long and in almost the blink of an eye, it's over and done. Converge is always an awesome time. I hail from southern NH so all the old school bands from that area hold a dear spot in my heart (alert, swivel, cave in, etc...). As with all their shows, this one was pure and all about being there, in the moment, enjoying the bands. Anyone with any other motives would not have been up, in the front, pushing and singing along with everyone else. They played a bunch of songs in the 45 minutes they were alotted. It wasn't surprising to hear the songs of the new CD that they played.. sort of the "singles" collection. Granted with only 45 minutes to play (due in part to technical difficulties), they didn't play too many songs. Anyhow, they only played one of jane doe, concubine... Honestly, I was shoked that they broke out the saddest day in the end. that is my favorite converge track which they only play about 50% of the times I've seen them.
at one point, a stage diver's foot clipped the end of my lens and my new camera slipped out of my hand. good thing I had that strap! with all the craziness going on with me directly in front of the stage, I'm glad that is all that happend.
