When I first started NotCommon it seemed that the hardcore and metal scenes were intertwined, but that was definately holding metal back because some hardcore kids are wicked gay and like to ruin it for everyone else.

Now, in Boston, hardcore is all but dead. Bill's Bar was practically their last venue and they won't do hardcore anymore. The Middle East doesn't do hardcore and I talked to the Chopping Block and they know whats going on and they most likely won't have hardcore. Even All Asia Cafe, which is run by the most open minded people, won't do hardcore. I think I had alot to do with splitting metal from hardcore in Boston, as far scenes go. Militant anti-hardcore attitudes have been the best thing for metal in this area (as well as punk).
