First band(s) - This was the stupidest noise set I've ever seen. That's based on overall weakness of sound and the YouTube-ed stage antics. The previous title holder was a guy in jorts yelling into a paper microphone in a basement in Rhode Island. There's a new sheriff in town. Left after a few to eat pizza.

Seabrook Papa Gino's - The Master Race in their natural habitat.

Hraevrgrrstrhfhhhl - No chance at pronouncing the name, but they were good.

Impenitent Thief as Witch Tomb - Shred city even as a 2 man operation.

Night Profound - Saw the outfits and thought I was in for a sick magic show. Turned out to be a pretty nice neo-folk duo. I judge most unfamiliar neo-folk on a pass/fail basis of if they make me think of Diablo II or not. This was a pass.

Fire + Ice - I was way more familiar with Ian Read in Sol Invictus than Fire + Ice but wow. His voice is incredible. I hope the Applebee's chuds by the bar that needed to talk over the whole set never figure out what an awesome and unique performance they missed. They'd be pretty sad.

Blood Axis - When you have a dynamic band like BA I'm always really apprehensive on how it adapts to a live set. This is everything I wanted from a Blood Axis set and more. One of the coolest live performances I've seen in a long time.

CNV/Northern - You know the stories, but if you're talking about the music this is well done creative black metal and there's no getting around it. Great set.

The venue - I could complain about the feedback problems from a fixed PA system. Or the fact that I don't remember there being a no re-entry policy but the door guy freaked when I walked 20 feet to the car to get a hoodie (cold northern air conditioning indeed). But honestly, they held a show that other venues would have ran from or waited until the last second to cancel so they could grandstand (rest in fucking piss TT the Bears). So thank you everyone involved in putting this on.

And America was great again!
