Yeah they're fucking great and Storm of Light's Bane is one of the few albums I own that my girlfriend can enjoy with me.

I heard good things and bad things about it. Everyone on FMP message board said it was the gayest thing theyd ever heard. However ive heard from others that its sounded like melodic black/death which is what Dissection is. So maybe theyre just being nazis about it because it doesnt fit into their definition of troo black metal grimness. Who knows though. Maybe it really does suck.

The sample sucked... It was happy sounding, kinda like In Flames. I was expecting it to sound much darker. Hopefully, they redeem themselves with some of the other songs that will appear on the new record but I doubt it...

the sample sucked, it sounded like an in flames clip, im hoping the new material will be more like the older stuff

i don't understand why everyone hails dissection like they invented black metal or something. dissection really isn't that good. there are much better black metal bands out there.

I've always viewed Dissection as more of a Heavy Metal band. The vocals and many song structures, lyrics, breakdowns are pretty black metal though. look at this way,
The Somberlain = heavy metal album
Storm of Light's Bane = blackened heavy metal album

It definitely isn't nu-metal at all dvm. I don't really think it sucks, it just isn't at all up to par with anything else they've ever done.
